I’ve been trying out and looking for different beauty products that are easy on my budget but also that I enjoy using and are worthy of a switch. After trying out different products, I pulled together the ones I am using daily, and to be truthful, I cannot tell a big difference from the more expensive products I was using. Surprisingly, these new products have made my makeup and complexion look much better, and I couldn’t wait to share them with you girls! Many of you may be like me and looking for different ways to cut back, and if that is so, these may be a few products you want to try. I have to mention this product as well. This is the E.L.F. Halo Glow Liquid Filter. I bought this in three colors: light, medium, and a darker color for contouring, just to see how I could mix and match them for sculpting and highlighting. This product is only $14, and it is as good as any high-end product, in my opinion. It’s infused with hyaluronic acid, so it’s working on your skin all day long and gives you a beautiful glow! This is the Ultimate Neutral Palette, and I literally grab this nearly every day because the neutrals are perfect for any eye color and great for an everyday work look. Over 40 Skincare Tips From My Dermatologist

Today I am sharing “This Not That” recommendations from my dermatologist for all women, but more focused on women over 40 who are seeing the signs of aging or who are in or near menopause. If you are experiencing thinning hair, fine lines, wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and all the other “fun” things that happen as we age…this is for you! **As a reminder, I am not a doctor, so be sure to check with your doctor or dermatologist before trying new products. One of the first signs I saw that I was starting to go through menopause was my hair thinning out. I have been using Biotin for years, so when the dermatologist said that I should stop that and start taking Vitamin D, I was shocked. See it here. She also recommended using Tretinoin with Minoxidil will help regrow and thicken my hair. I found Minoxidil at Walmart, see it here. I get my Tretinoin (Retin-A) from NuRx which helps with fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and sun damage. You can get a non-prescription by Neutrogena that she recommended here. More supplements to help with thinning hair that she recommended were Ashwagandha (reduces stress which causes hair shedding), Iron (if deficient in iron, excessive hair shedding can occur), and Nutrafol (targets hormones, free radicals, poor nutrition, stress, and inflammation). Another supplement she recommended was Heliocare Advanced for skin health that not only helps with protecting the skin against aging effects, but it will also make a noticeable difference in the look and feel of your skin. See it here. If you are starting to see signs that your skin is losing elasticity, try MEDIX 5.5 Retinol +Ferulic Acid. She recommended this for the body, and I can already see a change in firmness in my legs and arms, and no more crepey skin. It leaves your skin so soft and smooth, I know you will love it as much as I do. See it here. *I use this immediately after showering in the morning and about an hour before I go to bed. For a deeper exfoliation that helps with pore congestion and improve skin radiance, she recommended The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. This is a more affordable solution, and it has over 34K reviews. See the exfoliator here. Since menopause, I have battled dry skin and have tried numerous lotions, exfoliators, etc. This 40% UREA Cream helps remove dead skin so much better than exfoliating in the shower! She recommended I apply this to my legs and arms (those are my driest areas), then wait about 10-20 minutes and rub my skin with my hands. I was shocked to see the dead skin roll off, I use this about twice a week. See the UREA cream here. *Use it on your feet for baby-soft feet! If you want to incorporate a Vitamin-C Serum into your skin regimen, this serum by Mad Hippie was her suggestion. I love trying new beauty finds and I have a drawer full to prove it, lol! Every now and then I find products that I really like and I find myself using them all the time. Today I am sharing some of my favorite beauty items (many are Best Sellers) that I have been using and I think you ladies may like them too. Sharing is caring…at least that’s what Brooklyn has been telling me since she was 3…so I’m sharing! I’ve added these in list form to make it easier to read about them. Hope you enjoy the post! As I am getting older and going through menopause, I have noticed changes in my skin from dullness, elasticity, and more. Are you noticing changes in your skin? Today I am sharing all the Top Faves and Best Sellers from Amazon, from my favorite outfits to skincare and beauty items we are loving! This post is packed full of all kinds of cute items and must-have anti-aging essentials for women over 40. I have compiled all the top products from my IG Stories, all social media, and the blog. Many of these may be new to you if you do not follow along on social media. I did take time off from the blog to spend time with family, but we posted on social media and the LTK App through all of December, and these were the HOT items of the month! This week’s Links + What I’m Loving is full of so much good stuff that I think you are going to love! I have compiled items from beauty, fashion, accessories, to home goods and must-have items in the summer. I have also shared the books I just downloaded and cannot wait to get to reading in-depth. I sometimes share a recipe, but since we have been “up in the air” here at the Hoyle house, not much cooking has been going on. It’s been salads and sandwiches for most of the month. Barry is starting to complain, so I will have a great recipe next week…hopefully, lol! First up on the list are these cute Espadrille Mules from Target! These come in this pretty neutral, and a tan and olive suede. These are perfect for every day and can easily dress up a pair of jeans styled with a cute top and handbag. These will be a hot seller, so grab your size while you can. I ordered my regular size in these and they fit great. See the espadrille mule here. Another Walmart Find is the Melrose Ave Vegan Leather Strappy Flat Sandal. These remind me of the Scoop sandals that were so popular. These come in 2 more color options and are in my cart right now! I ordered the black in these. See the sandal here. Have you used the OPI Drip Dry drying drops? If you do your own nails or toes, this is a must-have! Apply to nails after applying NAIL POLISH as the final step of your manicure, wait to set 60 seconds. I also use the OPI ProStay Duo Pack, I can paint my nails and the polish won’t chip and it lasts for about 2 weeks. I recently found the Lancome Lash Idôle Lash-Lifting & Volumizing Mascara and it is AMAZING! I don’t wear a lot of mascara around the house, but when I do – this mascara helps give me gorgeous lashes and really makes my eyes pop. See it here. You can also see the Before & After pics, the difference is huge! Many of you have asked about self-tanners and I rarely use them, however, Raegan will use them. So I asked her and a few of my more mature friends which did they like best and by far, everyone liked St. Tropez the best and the second was Bondi Sands Liquid Gold. I know you have to make sure you exfoliate very well before applying a tanner because the tanner will grab to the older skin and darken in spots. I use the MicrodermaMitt (it’s wonderful!) before applying any tanner and I use this tanning mitt. The tanning mitt is one of Amazon’s Best Sellers and Most Loved! If you have dry or flaky skin or just love a great exfoliator, I found this little jar of heaven called Flake Away at Target and we are loving it! This is good for any type of skin and although reviews say people have used it on their face, I have not. I use this pumpkin mask on my face but use the Flake Away on my body. Makes my legs feel so good! See the Flake Away here. If you are like me, you may be sitting on a bleacher at night and on the weekends watching your grandkids play sports. One thing I have learned is to use a cooling towel for walks, working in the yard during the day, and baseball games! These are so handy and they work! The pack of 4 is only $14 and an Amazon Find! See it here. I have a few home decor items in this post since we are renovating. These lavender faux flowers are simply gorgeous and an easy addition to any room to brighten it up. I found these at Target and it comes in the pot for only $20. I am going to add this to my new bathroom. Isn’t it cute? See it here. These faux hydrangeas were an Amazon Find and will be going in the new glam bedroom when the kids move out next week. Yes…I said next week! Cross your fingers nothing happens between now and then, LOL! Back to the flowers…this set of 6 comes in multiple colors and is only $11. See the flowers here. This bracelet combo is another favorite that I have just bought. I love it together and I love the option of stacking it with other bracelets I own. It’s only $26 for the entire set, see it here. This would look gorgeous with a cute white dress this summer or add a pop of color with white shorts and a black top, or even an all denim outfit. I just ordered this blush camera bag crossbody from Amazon, along with the blush and blue guitar straps. If you love a comfortable dress, this V-Neck Shirt Dress from Target is spot on! I love the red, but I am drawn to the blue color also. My Reading Picks For The Week I have been busy with the house here lately and have not been able to read my books like I normally do. I have just downloaded these to read now and a few more to read in May while we take a few days at the beach. I was looking for a love story but soon found myself leaning towards a true story. Many of us are in our late 40’s and beyond, so today we are going to talk about stopping the aging cycle. Do you ever look in the mirror and wonder when did that wrinkle get there or when did my chin start sagging? We all are aging and there is nothing wrong with that, it’s a fact of life, right? However, we can slow it down by having a daily skincare routine and products that target those pesky areas we tend to focus on while looking in the mirror. Did you know if you do not take off your makeup at night, you can age 7 times faster? At times I can look at myself and think I am changing by the day and then I can look at my husband and think he barely looks his age, much less 10 years older than me. How is that? A lot of men look great as they get older, and a lot of that is from not wearing makeup and shaving (exfoliating) daily. How many of us have went to bed because we were too tired to remove our makeup, or to be frank…we were too lazy, lol! I’m over here raising my hand because I had the hardest time getting into a skincare routine in my earlier years. My mother told me in my teens that I had better start taking care of the biggest organ I had, my skin. Did I listen…somewhat, but not a lot until I got into my late 20’s and 30’s. About 6 months ago, I started the hunt for skincare products that actually worked and something that would compliment my wallet. I started with trying anti-aging serums, Retinol, and exfoliators. In my opinion, these are the 3 biggest game-changers for women over 40. I wanted products to help boost fullness, combat the fine lines, help with elasticity, and work on pore appearance. 5 Must-Haves For Women Over 40

There are some things that women over 40 should buy for themselves to maintain and restore youthfulness! Now that I’ve celebrated my 40th and 50th birthday (and more…), I’ve compiled a list of a few must-haves of things I believe women maturing in age should treat themselves to just because every now and then we need a little pampering. And if we can roll back the hands of time, then let’s do it! MicrodermaMitt Deep Exfoliating Body and Face Scrub About a month ago I was gifted this exfoliating set for an honest review of the product. Before I give it a shout out on social media or the blog, I will use a product for a considerable amount of time to make sure it is worthy to share with my followers, if it’s not – then I send it back. With that being said, I am going through menopause and have extremely dry skin and I am constantly trying new products to exfoliate and hydrate my arms and legs. They seem to be the driest part of my body, more than likely from being in the sun for so many years. So I was eager to try this all-natural product that had great reviews. My Skin Is Sagging! What Do I Do??

As I’m starting the new year out, my skin is top on the list. As we get older we start dealing with sagging skin, fine lines, wrinkles, elasticity “has moved to Iceland” and other things! Getting older can be a bummer, but there are things we can do that will help! Today we are going to explore over the counter remedies and treatments from a dermatologist or spa. As a licensed cosmetologist, I am sharing with you things that the cosmetology world is constantly talking about and products that many of us use and recommend. Why Do Our Face and Jowls Start To Sag? Sagging skin is due to two age-related reasons: loss of collagen, which gives skin its elasticity, and loss of facial fat, the absence of which causes the skin to droop. It’s something we are all either facing or going through. I myself have noticed my neck not looking like it used to and it drives me insane! I can remember noticing it on Barry when he was in his early 50’s (I was only 40) but guess what…now it’s my turn, but there is help out there! Gaining and Losing Weight When you gain weight, the skin on your face stretches to go along with your extra padding, just like it does everywhere else. But if you’ve finally lost it, you may notice that you’re sporting under-eye bags and a slack jaw. Some people benefit from having more than 1 treatment. **Results can last 2 to 3 years with the right skincare. Laser treatment Some lasers can send heat deep into the skin without wounding the top layer of your skin. These lasers are used to tighten skin all over the body and can be especially helpful for tightening loose skin on the belly and upper arms. Bottom line: You may need 3 to 5 treatments to get results, which gradually appear between 2 and 6 months after the last treatment. Most tightening and lifting without surgery Minimally invasive skin-tightening procedures While these procedures can give you more noticeable results, they still cannot give you the results of a surgical procedure like a facelift, eyelid surgery, or neck lift. Minimally invasive skin tightening, however, requires less downtime than surgery. It also carries less risk of side effects. You will be sedated during this type of procedure and will have a few days of downtime. If you have a minimally invasive skin tightening procedure, here’s what you can expect. Radiofrequency When you have this type of radiofrequency, a thin tube (or needles), is inserted into your skin to heat up the tissue beneath. This allows your dermatologist to provide heat exactly where you need it to tighten loose skin. Dermatologists often use this procedure to tighten the neck or upper arms. Bottom line: Putting the heat where it’s needed allows you to see results faster — usually in about 1 month. In some research studies, patients see gradual tightening and lifting for close to 1 year. After the procedure, you’ll need someone to drive you home and you may need to wear a compression garment for 4 or 5 days. You’ll also need to care for the wound. Laser resurfacing This is the most effective procedure for tightening loose skin. Unlike the laser treatment described above, this procedure requires some downtime. You’ll need to stay home for 5 to 7 days. Laser resurfacing also gives you the fastest results. After you heal, you’ll see tightening and fewer wrinkles within 2 weeks. Bottom line: Laser resurfacing can tighten skin, usually better than any other skin-tightening procedure. It can also diminish fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots on the skin, such as age spots. The tradeoff is that it requires downtime and has a greater risk of possible side effects, such as scarring. What Would You Prefer? Aging gracefully or fighting it every step of the way? To be frank and honest with you girls, the one thing that you can do to help fight the aging process is to be consistent with your skincare routines. Sticking with a regimen, eating healthy (no fried foods), drinking plenty of water, taking skin-hair-nail vitamins, and exercising are things we all can do where we can reap the rewards over time. Our skin didn’t start sagging in a week – it took years for that to happen and it will take time to see some changes. Current PM Skincare Routine (New Products I’m Loving)

When it comes to skincare, I have literally tried so many brands I have a drawer full of products that said they would deliver and never did. My biggest concern is something that helps fight the aging process, the lovely signs of getting older and gravity (what once was up – eventually sags down). Most women that are around 40 and older all say the same things. The issue with me over my grownup life is I was lazy and I mean lazy a lot! Did I wash off my makeup every night? Umm, nope! I was a busy Mom in college and working with two small children. I was either at a church function, a ball game or a recital – or practices for everything in between. I was in my 40’s before I started being consistent in my routines and still had to make myself at times. For all you younger girls, trust me when I say – you need to take care of your skin daily! Start now in your younger years and when you are in your late 40’s, 50’s and beyond you will be much happier with your skin. My Nightly Routine I love Rodan and Fields, but I also love a lot of other products. I have never been product loyal unless it gave me the results that I was loving. If it works, I tend to continue to use the product, although, since I am a skincare junkie now – I still try all kinds of products. I will read reviews and do a lot of research on something, especially if I am going to splurge on a product. Step 1: Wipe That Makeup OFF! The very best makeup wipes I have ever used, from expensive to inexpensive- Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes have always topped the list. I have literally run to Walmart or Target to buy these when I have tried other brands and they failed to do the job. Step 2: Wash Your Face! I have bounced around between a few of these products, but right now I am rotating between the Redefine Daily Cleansing Mask and Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Facial Cleanser. Why do I like these products? I like the Daily Cleansing Mask because it’s a clay mask that pulls the impurities out of your skin. This helps reduce pores and exfoliating your skin and gives you younger-looking and younger-feeling skin. Can you tell this one has been used? It has! I like the Foaming Cleanser because it makes my skin feel super clean and I like using it in the shower when I’m in a hurry at night and in the mornings. It’s a product that I have used for over 20 years and I’m still using it at least a few times during the week. Step 3: Toner (Work it girls) I use a few toners, so before I start talking about the two I use, let me explain why you need to use a toner. Using a toner gets any traces of dirt, oil or makeup that may be left after washing your face. It helps balances the pH of your skin, can help with acne, oily or dry skin. Some can also help minimize pores, loss of firmness and fine lines. Toners I Am Currently Loving! My day to day toner has been the Pore Minimizing Toner, I like this one because I do not need a lot and this one gives a lot of bang for the buck. It helps reduce the look of pores, fine lines and helps with firmness. At 50 years old – this is essential in fighting the gravity issue and fine lines. In the winter months, I can tell that my skin needs hydrating constantly so I have been using Fresh Rose Deep Hydrating Facial Toner. I can tell a big difference in my skin, especially in the cheek area. They seem more hydrated and plump. I will take plump over sagging any day! This one uses rose water, hyaluronic acid, and angelica leaf extract to draw in moisture and keep it in place. This one also has over 120K loves on the review- that should tell you something! Step 4: Moisturize Your Face You can probably tell that I normally use the Redefine Regimen, which I do and I love these products. As an Influencer, I get a box of items every 3 months filled with products that I try out and review – and some of these products have been awesome! Products that I have fallen in love with and I am still using, plus I have been asked recently what my skincare regimen was like. So in the era of transparency – I am sharing it all! Regardless of age, everyone wants their skin to look glowy, radiant, and plump. As your skin begins to produce less oil and there is a breakdown of elastic and collagen fibers, “the skin becomes drier and thinner with more laxity.” Generally, this means a proper skin-care regimen needs to include “products that strengthen and thicken the dermis, provide moisture retention and barrier renewal, yet are not too harsh or abrasive.” My Favorite Moisturizers (Moisturize to Look Younger!) Best Drugstore Moisturizer I Have Used Rapid Wrinkle Repair Night Moisturizer is a great drugstore brand that I have on hand in my bathroom and my travel bag. I liked that it absorbed quickly, didn’t irritate (even with retinol) and had little scent. Tests found that it firmed and moisturized, evened tone and could smooth fine lines over time. My other favorite Drugstore Brand that I am loving is No. 7 Restore & Renew Face & Neck Multi-Action Serum. No. 7 is one of the best selling brands in America, I have tried a few of their products, but this has been my favorite. Clinically Proven Results• Face: 95% had visibly reduced wrinkles• Face: 93% had a noticeable lift• Neck: 85% had visibly reduced crepiness• Neck: 82% had improved firmness Moisturizers Where I Have Splurged As you can tell, I like the serums much better than a typical moisturizer. My daily nightly moisturizer is Overnight Restorative Cream ( this is a splurge unless you get the full regimen). I do not go without this product, but I have reviewed a few “splurges” and absolutely loved these also. In fact, in one of my bathrooms I have my regimen that I use the most, but some nights I like to use serums only and skip a nightly moisturizer. My ultimate splurge product is Metacell Renewal B3 Skinceuticals Serum. These are SUPER hard to get, they stay Out of Stock because the demand is so high. There are few left here if interested. You can get on a waitlist here – trust me…it’s totally worth it! This is designed to target, repair and prevent the visible signs of photo-aging. A 5% concentration of niacinamide diminishes hyperpigmentation while peptides and glycerin firm skin and smooth expression lines and deep wrinkles. Next on my Splurge List is Charlotte Tilbury’s Charlotte’s Magic Cream. These do come from a .5 oz ($29) to a 1.7oz jar (this is what I have ($100). What does this do? It contains Charlotte Tilbury’s secret mix of patented, anti-aging, hydrating and youth-promoting ingredients that lift and transform tired skin in an instant. This moisturizer fights the aging process on all fronts, stimulating collagen production and cell energy while fighting free radicals to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Skin is penetrated with hydration and elasticity is restored, smoothing the surface and promoting healthy cell renewal. It’s ideal for anyone with tired, thirsty or lackluster skin. Step 5: Eye Cream Best Drugstore Eye Cream My favorite is ROC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Eye Cream. This helps with dark circles under eyes, puffiness of under eyes, smoother appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Restores elasticity and gives your eyes a smoother look. Splurging On My Eye Creams! I use the Multi-function Eye Cream daily, I absolutely love it and freak out when I do not have it in the house. With that being said, I have found myself without any for the last few weeks, so my stand by has been carrying the load of stopping my fine lines and wrinkles. I used this brand for years and somehow over time, I stopped buying it. I’m not sure why, but things like this happen. I received this product in an Influenster Box and I remember why I used to throw this on a charge card way back in the day – it was worth it!
