Buffalo Check Inspiration

Happy Hump Day! Hope everyone’s week is going well so far, I seem to be less stressed today, thank goodness! I got some things done and I’m feeling like I accomplished a few goals. I can’t believe it’s almost Halloween, this year has flown by! If you have little ones, this is an exciting time for you and them. I know Brooklyn seems to be pumped up, she will be going as Super Girl. She loves her comic girls! Last year she was all about Wonder Woman, check her out below.

I am a lover of Pinterest and I drift over on my app daily to find outfit ideas, recipes, decor ideas and now it’s all about Christmas. I did, however, find a cute outfit that I am using for inspiration for today’s blog. Buffalo check is still going strong and is becoming a staple piece for Fall and Winter fashion.

I copied this outfit with a Buffalo Check button-down from Walmart and a pair of black leggings from The Loft. I styled it with a black vest from NY&Co with gold zipper detail, I bought this last year but found a similar one from J. Crew, see it here. The gold detail really makes the zipper pop on this vest and the one from J. Crew has it!

For another look I decided to style a pair of denim jeans (mine are from American Eagle here) and Sam Edelman Michelle booties.

I am running errands today, (well…grocery shopping-Uggg…) so I am carrying one of my bigger purses. I’ve shown this LV dupe on the blog before and it has been very popular. I guess I’m not the only one that doesn’t want to spend over a grand on a purse LOL! See the dupe here.

I love these Sam Edelman Michelle booties, they are just the right heel height, the shaft is perfect for jeans and skirts. Every girl needs a great pair of black booties and these deliver! They are SUPER hard to find online! I did find them on Amazon and they come in multiple colors here.

These Mud Pie Tassel Hoop earrings are back by high demand at The Mint Julep Boutique. These are SUPER popular and they are very hard to find. They are $26 and worth every penny! See them here.

You may notice I have a lot of hair in my bun today! Since I cut those 6 inches off earlier this year, I have had to wear extensions when making a thick bun. I shared this trick on Instagram and thought I would share it with you. I section my hair around the top of my head (crown area) clip in the track of extensions to the hair that is still hanging down, then pull all my hair up in a ponytail, then make my bun. You would never know it and it helps me not have a little baby knot on my head. The extensions I use are here.

Which style did you prefer? Leggings or Jeans?

What are you girls doing today? I wonder if you girls go trick-or-treating or give candy out? Or some may do nothing – we used to go all out at Halloween, the entire family would come over when the kids were smaller. For a few years we didn’t;t do anything, but this year it’s pizza night and seeing all the little kids and their costumes.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, I hope you all have a fabulous day!

I actually have everything for this look and I did wear it last year but with black jeans instead of leggings!! And of course I love your messy bun and that was interesting to hear how you get that look!!! It’s so fun to see the grandkids excitement when they get dressed for Halloween! Your Halloween night sounds like so much fun. It’s house cleaning for me today and a little bookwork so best get at it now that my coffee cup is empty.

Oh my gosh, I’m getting my second cup also!! Brooklyn surely makes things fun again. I never knew little ones could bring so much joy. My kids were fun, but it was different. I guess because I was the mom lol. This look is a great look and most everyone has these items. Don’t work too hard today ❤️

Good morning and happy hump day to you too!! I think that I am finally starting to feel some improvement 🙂 I just hope and pray that it continues. The picture of Brooklyn is so adorable! She is a cutie for sure! I like the outfit and I am more drawn to the outfit with the jeans. I think that is mostly because even though I would like the leggings more for the comfort but not sure what the back view would look like if the top doesn’t cover my backside. 😉 We bought candy to give out and I had planned on sitting out in a rocking chair on our front porch to give it out to avoid having people ring the doorbell and sending our 3 dogs into a barking frenzy. I checked out the weather forecast and it says 100% rain for today and tomorrow so not sure if we will get any trick or treaters and probably not a good idea for me to sit outside in the nasty weather right now. Have a wonderful day!

It’s funny you brought up the dogs barking because we were thinking about sitting on our front porch too!! Gosh, those dogs bark at the wind howling!! Lol. If a commercial comes on and it has a doorbell in it-my dogs go crazy. Uggg!! Glad you are feeling better!! Or at least starting to feel better. The top I have totally covers my backside. I do not like it showing either- it’s 50 years old and has been through it 😂😂

You are too funny!! My butt has been through 58 years now so even worse. Our dogs will bark at the tv when a doorbell rings on it and I find myself yelling at them over the noise that it is just the tv!!

Leave a Comment, I'd love to hear from you!
