Red, White & Blue From Walmart!

Happy Tuesday morning!! I hope your Monday went well, mine was a little busy and interesting. Brooklyn came over after daycare and spent the night. We will be working in the yard today, that little 4 year old is such a good helper! I had some mulch delivered for the side of our house and I struggle picking a bag up at times. I want you girls to know that kid would grab a bag and drag it to me. Those bags are heavy ladies and she was outdoing me! HA!!!

I went shopping at Walmart and stocked up on some essentials in clothing. I have styled items before and some times you can find some really great deals – and I did on my trip! I was looking for a 4th of July tee and to my surprise, I didn’t find anything, but I did find some red and blue! I’m showing 2 different looks with the same shorts today. There are so many ways you can style these! Add a denim shirt tied at the waist or left unbuttoned with a camisole underneath and that would be a cute option too!

I found these white denim 4.5-inch shorts with a ragged hem made by Time and Tru. These shorts are well worth the $13, they fit as well as American Eagle shorts or any other big brand company. It kind of surprised me just how good they do fit. I like the short length, it’s perfect for me and it has spandex in the material so you really have some give and comfort while wearing them. These shorts come in denim colors also, see the shorts HERE. I am wearing a size 8 for reference.

This cute top was perfect for my holiday attire added with the shorts or a cute pair of cropped jeans or pants would look so cute. I styled a great pair of white cropped pants HERE that would look very cute with this top and cute sandals with heels or flats. This top is only $9.94 and comes in 4 different colors. Sizes are S-XXXL, see the tops HERE. This top is by Time and Tru also, it has a boatneck, fits TTS, and it has a 4.5-star rating! I am wearing a Medium for reference.

To shake things up if you are in an area in the US that is not having a HEAT WAVE – or you might be cold natured, this navy Summer Diamond Stitch Cardigan from Cato Fashions. I did find a few navy cardigans at Walmart, but they were almost sold out online, so I pulled out my Cato Cardigan. This is a perfect cardigan, it’s very lightweight and perfect for chilly nights. This comes in Sizes XS-XL, 100% rayon, and has 3/4 length sleeves. See the cardigan HERE.

I paired it with a red Essential Basic Tank, I always size up on my tanks because they shrink so much! I am wearing a Large HERE. These come in a multitude of colors and are a great price point! you never can have too many camisoles, right?

I think you can see the shorts length a little better in the closeup picture. I know a lot of women my age do not like wearing shorter shorts and like I said earlier, these are perfect!

Ok girls, this post is kind of short since we are going to be working in the yard today. I hope you all have a great day!! What are you girls up to? And who else is having a heat wave coming through? WOW! The heat index is so hot here it is crazy, you walk outside and your makeup seems to melt off. How many of you are having that problem? Your makeup feels oily, or it just feels heavy with the summer heat?

I wear a wax based foundation when I am taking pictures, but today I brought back out the Radiance Defense. It’s like a tinted makeup, but it’s not a makeup nor a tinted moisturizer. What it does do is cover your face perfect and you don’t feel like your face is ooey or gooey! Plus it has an SPF of 30 and it perfects your skin while you are wearing it. Definitely check this product out HERE and make sure you get the Liquid Brush too! I have my license as a Certified Makeup Artist and this brush is probably the best brush I have ever used to apply anything liquid! The BEST ladies!! You will not be disappointed!! If you sign up as a Preferred Customer you can save 10% and get Free Shipping with any order over $80. Plus you’re going to get a surprise from me!!!

Thanks for stopping by the blog and have a great Tuesday!! Stay safe and don’t get too hot out there today! XOXO

It’s hard to believe July 4th is only two days away and we have made no plans so I haven’t really thought about what I would wear. That really is a cute navy top and a great price and sometimes it’s worth taking time to look through Walmart clothes to see what you can find. I picked up a couple of sleeveless pull-over t’s there last week that were under $10. So glad I stayed out til 6 and got ALL my mowing done as we had a big rain storm last night with wind and 2.60″ of rain so we have water sitting in some of my mowing areas. So I guess today will be some bookwork, maybe make some muffins and a casserole. Good luck to you and Brooklyn getting your yard work done.

Yes Wal-Mart does have some deals if you look every now and then. Oh lord Sandy. We worked in the yard and I got a heat headache and I’ve been lying down trying to get rid of it. I’m getting up where I can’t take the heat at all. Glad you’re getting caught up!!! Happy Tuesday night!!

Troy and I have recently been working in our yard. Since we have been here just under a year we are just now getting to some of the yard projects. We have a front area that was bordered with a cement type of landscape border and it was falling over in places and just made me cringe every time that I drive up to our house. Well, yesterday I decided to take it upon myself to remove it and haul I don’t know how many wheel barrows full of the stuff up the incline to our driveway and stack them neatly there. On Friday we will be renting a U-Haul trailer to take away any materials or items to the landfill. I had planned on doing errands after the yard work but I over exerted myself and got over heated. When you are done with Brooklyn’s help you can send her over here! 😉 Those bags of mulch are heavy even for an adult!! I love the outfits today and especially love the low prices. Thanks too for the tip of wearing a denim shirt tied at the waist with a camisole underneath. I have those items already on hand and hadn’t thought of wearing them that way. I am so glad that you posted this because since I didn’t get to go do the errands yesterday I will be going today and had planned to stop at Cato’s and now I will also stop in at Walmart. I hope that you have a wonderful day!

Sounds like you and I are still soul sisters!! I got overheated today too and boy have I ( and Raegan) got major headaches. I still have one, I’m getting way too old for this lol!! I bought some new pillows for the couch set on the porch. I love decorating the house when I get in a cleaning spell. We have been slowly working on things and it seems like we are moving at a snails pace lol. Hope you found some cute items today!!!

I just got home from shopping and I got the Crocheted Tan Sleeveless Top that you wore on yesterday’s blog. It was the very last one that they had and it happened to be in my size, yay! 🙂 I got one other top and a cute little purse. I never did make it to Walmart today. It is just so hot outside and I was ready to be home so maybe I will stop in there another day.
