Chambray Blouse + Espadrilles
Happy Monday girls!! I hope your weekend has been a great one and your Monday is starting out on a happy note. Mondays are always busy for me, this is the day I try to get my pictures taken and get my outlines completed for the weekly blog posts. Since Barry is now taking pictures for me, and his schedule is 3 days on/3 days off, I may be pushing my office day to his day off. I have told him how much you girls liked the outdoor pictures and I’m not going to lie…he’s getting more serious about his picture taking skills HAHA!!
I was browsing on Pinterest and got my inspiration for today’s outfit. I love a denim or chambray shirt, especially with white shorts or white pants! I looked everywhere for my denim shirt – to no avail- and ordered one from Old Navy when a sale was going on. I paired this with a pair of white Riviera Shorts from The Loft, but this would be a great top with longer Bermuda shorts also. I like to wear a long sleeve denim top over a t-shirt in the summer (kind of like a lightweight jacket) anyone else
The Chambray Shirt comes in Regular, Tall and Petite, it’s $29.99 (regular price) and comes in Sizes XS-XXL. It comes in a Light Wash color and the one I am wearing, which is the Medium Wash color. I like this shirt because it has the distressed or “worn” look on the front and on the elbows. Reminds me of denim shirts my grandpa used to wear. See the denim shirt HERE.
I have worn these white Riviera Shorts before on the blog and I must say they are some of my favorite shorts. I actually have 3 pair of these white shorts, if you are like me…you need at least 2 pair of white shorts in the summer. White goes with everything! See The Loft’s Riviera Shorts HERE.
Plus, for some reason, I get white dirty very easily! Do you girls own more than 1 pair of white shorts or pants?
I have had a few ask me about the sunglasses that I have been wearing and the black ones in the beach photos are by Quay and are around $65 a pair. The ones I am wearing today are from Amazon and are called LUENX Aviator sunglasses, they are only $16.99 and these are great shades if you are looking for a cheaper pair. The cute purse I am styling is from NY & Co and it’s called the Wooden Handle Tote Bag. It has a strap to it so it can be worn on the shoulder or crossbody, it is made of leather and snaps underneath the wooden handles. I ordered a lot of clothes and accessories from NY & Co a few weeks back and did not think this bag was as large as it is. I like a bigger bag and was really pleased with this one. It is sturdy and I really like the round handle look, it’s very popular right now and this makes a perfect summer bag for casual or dressy days. I chose to wear a pair of BaubleStar White Tassel Earrings to have a pop of color against the denim blouse. These tassel earrings are from Amazon and these come in 15 different colors. You girls know I love these Vince Camuto Espadrilles! These are 1-inch platforms and wear GREAT! They are from Sole Society and I purchased these through AfterPay (it splits up your balance into easy payments and it is a payment option when you go to checkout) and it’s a purchase that I do not regret! I have worn these sandals with short, jeans and skirts so far this Spring/Summer. If you notice the band around your ankle to fasten the shoe…it’s well-made and a high-quality shoe that will last! Oh gosh…you need to keep doing outdoor photos as long as the weather is good because once again Barry has done an awesome job. Love your cute poses too! And if he stars doing your photos; look at all the “dates” you will have and maybe even take in a breakfast or lunch while you are out and about! I have been looking for a new chambray shirt and I am loving this one!! I don’t wear distressed jeans but I love the distressing in this shirt. The one I have is too heavy for summer and yes, I like wearing one if I don’t want to wear a jacket but I never know how to wear it…buttoned or unbuttoned. I like yours with the front tuck but I’m having issues getting that tuck to look right on me…LOL You may not believe this but I do not own a pair of white shorts and only one pair of white jeans(that I’m not liking how they fit me anymore) so I’ve been on the search for a new pair that aren’t skinny style. Beverly, with the shirt, if I wear it open, should I order a petite so that it isn’t so long or would I still get a regular size? That may be hard to know what to tell me and I may have to just try them on to see where the length hits me. Hoping to get to the city the end of the week to do a little shopping. Thank you for the shout-out to Terry for his birthday! He got in from the field around 9:00 so yes, we still ate a piece of birthday cake so I NEED to get my exercise in before the morning gets away from me.

Awe!! Thanks so much for the compliments!! Ok, the denim shirt-I think the petite would work with your small frame, but-do you ever have issues with petite clothing bring too small in the shoulder area? If so, I would go with a regular. I would look at the size chart for petite and make sure the chest area/shoulder area will fit. But I think the petite would work for you. The length would be perfect. Have you tried any NY&CO Soho Jeans? I like those, I have a few but I have not styled any of them yet. Hope you guys have a great day!! Are you getting that last piece of cake? Lol

LOL…I had another piece of cake for lunch! I told Terry not to let me have anymore. I have bought petite shirts and usually go PM because of exactly what you said, they are too tight in the shoulders with a PS. And of course I HAVE NOT tried NY&CO so ho jeans…LOL. I have to admit I have never heard of them. I will google them and check them out. Thanks for the suggestions 🙂

One more thing lol!! I think since Barry is taking pictures it has changed his outlook on the blog. He’s always been very supportive of the blog, but now he’s owning it haha!! I started the blog as “ours” but I knew he would never write a post ha! I think he feels he’s a part of something that’s mine and I can tell he’s liking it. It is nice to do things with him because normally it’s getting groceries, riding on the golf cart, hitting golf balls in the yard or eating together lol!! We have a boring life haha!!!!

Happy Monday! I love the outfit and Barry is doing awesome at being your photographer:) I have 2 chambray shirts so I will have to try this. I have some white pants but no white shorts. I did however get a gift card to J. C. Penney for Mother’s day from my youngest daughter and I was wondering what to get from there so now I will be on the lookout for white shorts. Thanks for the shout out to Troy for his birthday 🙂 It was an enjoyable day for him. He did errands while I was at work then we met at the movie theater near my work and saw the new Avengers movie which we both loved. After the movie we went to Applebee’s for dinner and I clued our waiter into the fact that it was Troy’s birthday so he and 2 other waitresses sang happy birthday to him and he got a free brownie bite with ice cream 🙂 He is doing a Keto type diet through our doctor right now and is doing well and didn’t want to cheat on it but I convinced him that he should have a little something for his special day. Glad that Sandy’s husband had a good day too! We all have so much in common it seems and I thought that it was cool that not only do our husbands share the same birthday but that their names both start with the letter T. Hope your Monday has been a great one!!

LOL Kelly ! I never put two and two together about our hubbies! The best part of his day was having breakfast muffins with our grandkids. All three of them put a candle on their muffins and the kids loved that! We are talking about going to a movie tomorrow as our last field to plant is too wet and it’s suppose to be raining and 40 mph winds tomorrow so will not be a nice day to be outside. Glad you had a nice birthday outing together.
