Coffee & Girl Talk
Happy Sunday everyone! AND…Happy St Patrick’s Day!!
We made a night of it and boy did we make a mess! How do little kids make such a mess when playing? We had blankets out for forts, horses, puzzles and more, it was a neverending toy box dumped out. LOL!! When she went down for a nap, I looked around and was a bit overwhelmed with all our “junk”. So I started the task of cleaning up, which made me think of today’s post!
How many times have we messed up and had to start all over again? Probably a lot! I remember an older song from the Canton Spirituals, Clean Up. A part of the song says “I got to clean up what I messed up. I’m starting my life over again.” Isn’t it an awesome feeling that we can mess up and go straight to the Throne of God and be forgiven. Not only forgiven, but we have a loving God that will help us “clean up” our mess.
Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.
No matter what is going on in your life, you can start over today. No matter what we have done, we are never too far down for God to reach us. There is always a hand reaching out for us. He is the epitome of love and He loved ALL of us enough to give his only son. How many of us could willingly sacrifice our child, knowing that their death could ultimately save mankind? In a twist, we would be told that each person can choose whether they believe this or not. Not all would believe.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
In fact, most of mankind would reject the death of your child and not be saved. Most would mock and rebuke the name of your child. Most would call it a fairy tale. Only a few would believe and take the narrow road to lead them to heaven. Only a few would stand among
When we think about our own flesh and blood dying in such a horrible manner, then the majority of people would reject him – I would want to keep my child from that pain. The love God has for each one of us is oblivious to us in every way, every form, and every thought. Just like the story in the Bible where the Shepherd left the 99 to go after the 1 lost sheep. If 1 could be saved – then it would be worth it.
Matthew 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
There are very few that would lay their life down to save another. That takes a strong and loving person to commit to such a hefty promise. I try to think about these things daily so I do not take for granted the opportunity God has given me. Even though I can “mess up” and he will forgive me, I want to show perseverance, commitment, and dedication to the One I chose to serve. He certainly paid a price for me and one that I do not take lightheartedly.
I did not mean to get deep today, I seriously was going to write a post about how good God is about forgiving and helping us clean up our mess. But as you know, on Sundays – I let it go wherever God leads me. Hope you girls have a great Sunday! Enjoy your day, be with family or just relax! Stay safe and we will see you on the blog tomorrow!! What a fun day it sounds like you had with Brooklyn and I usually look forward to the grandkids nap time because it gives this grandma a rest time too. 🙂 I love that you write from the top of your head and the bottom of your heart because you delivered a two-fold message today. Isn’t it a blessing that we have someone that we can turn to to grab our hand and help clean up our mess; and to BELIEVE in the Words of John 3:16. No plans for us for St. Patrick day so will see if anything comes up.
