Coffee & Girl Talk

Happy Sunday ladies! I’m sorry the post is going out so late today – I hate that I’m behind the eight-ball…UGGG. It’s always crazy coming back home after I’m gone, even if it’ only a couple of days. Barry will not agree with this, but the house runs better when I’m here LOL! Can you relate???

We had a great time at the Rodan + Fields Spotless Training and I learned a lot of new things. Plus talking with Tania and Leigh Ann was incredible, their business knowledge is amazing! I drove down to Atlanta which took about 7 hours with traffic, driving back was much better – I only ran into 2 traffic jams. I used to drive a lot when I was a Corporate Trainer, so traffic jams and work zones are nothing new to me. I have found it best to stay in the lane you are in and ride it out.

I saw cars moving from one lane to the next only to move a car length, then move to another lane trying to get a little closer to getting out of the traffic jam. As I was watching them, I thought- that’s exactly how we are in our lives. We take it upon ourselves to try and fix things when anything is going bad. And in reality, we are really only spinning our wheels or only moving a tad bit and ultimately being right back where we started.

The hardest thing I have learned in my spiritual walk over the years is to STAND STILL. Stand still and let God move in our lives and turn everything around. We get in our own way, we spin our wheels, when we should have stood still and let God take the wheel. More than likely we could have come out of the “traffic jam” blocking our advancement if we only “Let Go and Let God” move like only He can.

2 Chronicles 20:17 You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord who is with you…

As I was watching all the movement in front of me, it felt like a voice whispering in my ear saying – “This is my people, they have no patience to Stand Still”. I knew this was what I needed to blog about today at that very moment. I have been thinking all week about my Sunday post, this is the post that I worry about weekly. I want to always be sure I am in writing what God would have me write. I even pushed the blog post out late to make sure I was in His will.

1 Samuel 12:16 Now therefore stand still and see this great thing, which Jehovah will do before your eyes.

If you are going through a battle and it seems no hope or no end is in sight, stand still and let the Lord God fight your battles. Do not move around and try and fix things or advance. He knows what is going on in your life and he is working out everything for you good.

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

I hope this helps someone today, if only 1 person, then I have done as I should. Ladies, have a blessed and happy Sunday! I pray your week is a great one!! I’ve got a white denim jacket I’m styling tomorrow – I think your girls are going to love it! See you on the blog tomorrow.

How simple and profound. And yet it’s such s hard thing to do. Be Still. I’m glad I had to wait for this post. It was worth it. The scriptures and reminder were much needed. Thank you. I’m glad you’re home safe. Driving in Atlanta can be a nightmare. Can’t wait to see the white denim jacket tomorrow.

Thanks Johnna!! I love your comments, they let me know I’m in the right track lol. We have something in common!! My husband and your husband do the same thing for a living. Although he stopped his practice and went over to the State to work in that field. Have a great Sunday and thank you again!!

So glad that you arrived home safely! Yes the traffic here in Atlanta can be crazy. I am like you where I will find a lane and stay there. My husband tends to go from one lane to another if the lane he is in is not moving fast enough and it drives me bananas. I loved how you used the traffic analogy in today’s post. I have a tendency to want to “fix” things rather than to “stay put” and wait on God to do His work in His timing. It always turns out so much better when I wait on Him 🙂

HI- Beverly it looked like you had a great time in Atlanta glad you made it back home safely!
Great Sunday post as usual….. It is hard sometimes to stand still but when you do everything starts making sense. Have a great evening and week!
    Blessings!

Thanks Mitzi!! You are exactly right-it’s so hard to stand still. Especially for women, we are used to fixing everything. Have a great night and week!!!

OMG yes your Sunday blog post are so worth waiting for. The battle I’m fighting right now is within myself and thank you for the analogy of the traffic jam because I think right now my thoughts are jammed with trying to change certain things and I need to stand still and let God take the wheel. Since you had a seven hour drive, Im so glad you enjoyed your time in Atlanta, that made the long drive worth it. Looking forward to this week and checking in with my morning coffee!! 🙂
