Fashion has come along ways since I first started way back in the 90’s in the Fashion Industry. More options are being offered, there are Boutiques and Stores that cater to women over size 14 and I think that’s GREAT!! I never understood why “society” would always stick a model in a picture that was a Size 0, knowing that girl was starving herself! I remember going to a Fashion Conference in the early 90’s and the average size woman was a size 14, (and today in 2018, over 68% of women are a size 14 or more) so why weren’t companies targeting that demographic? If this is your average size woman, then the industry was doing an injustice to their clients. Today, things have changed and for the better! I see more companies offering clothes that are trending and I see their profits going up as a result. I did a little homework and what I found out, companies that targeted average women with average models saw their profits rise over 20% in 2015. Companies that photoshopped their models were actually down 70% over a year ago. What does this tell us? We want regular looking models and clothes that are trending and fashionable for the average woman in the US. “There’s an opportunity to get to customers that are underserved instead of marketing based on an idealized image.” So let’s see what I found!! I absolutely loved this top, not only for the sleeve detail, but that color!! I can see this with jeans and booties – too cute, not to post!  I can’t leave out dresses and I found this cute one that would look so pretty with a cardigan. This can be transitioned over into the Fall with boots also. Its a Button Downed Pocket Flare Dress.   I picked this top out because I have one similar to it and I wear that top all the time. It’s light and wears good, I can wear it alone or with a cardigan – a regular cardigan or a longer one – it’s a perfect top for work or play.   I know you girls know I LOVE off the shoulder tops and they are all the rage right now. These will still be popluar for Fall, and really throughout the entire year. You want to dress up for a special occasion? Off the Shoulder tops seem to take your look up a notch. So, I picked this Off The Shoulder Striped Sweater. This is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!! I love the sleeve detail and the way it hangs, it’s just plum cute! And if you’re going out, you are going to need a cute denim jacket to go with all these cute tops. One that never goes out of style is the classic denim. If you don’t have a Denim Jacket in your arsenal, you are mising out! These days you can wear the denim jacket with a dress and booties, denim on denim, with skirts, really the posibilities are endless!   Want some cute pants for work? These drawstring pants are perfect for work and right on into date night! Can you see these with a cute jacket (denim jacket above) and some cute shooties or booties? Maybe the denim jacket isn’t your style and you like a short blazer, or a long cardigan…anything can go with these and look cute!   And what about this Tie Waisted Henley Dress, boots, jacket- there are a variety of ways to wear a dress or top that is sleeveless or short sleeved through the Fall and Winter.   What about accessories? Can’t end this post without showing a few pieces that are hot and trending right now! Tassels are huge right now, earrings, necklaces, even putting tassel charms on your bracelet is big! You can mix and match colors, metals, pearls with jeans, it realy doesn’t matter. Showing your style and uniqueness is where it’s all at! How many times have you seen a T-shirt that says Mama Bear, Mom Boss? I love those and I bet you do too, how about a necklace that has been personalized? Bringing up the rear is the cutest pair of earrings, I think I have ever seen! Tassels, dangling, big earrings are everywhere right now. Here in NC we are really getting ready for this storm, I didn’t think I would ever get out of Walmart this morning. Geez, I felt like it was doomsday and everyone was fighting over a loaf of bread. Whew! Florence is a coming and we are in survival mode. By now most people have their batteries, water, food, etc and we are getting bunkered down to see whats going to happen. I’ve seen a lot of hurricanes come through, but none have ever touched Fran. These hurricanes that are in the F’s (women) are some mighty hateful chicks! This week has been crazy – trying to get ready for the storm, still working  – crazy chaos. Hopefully everything will be back to normal next week and we can actually start our Fashion Fridays! Speaking of fashion, lets talk about this casual little number I wore today.  I have on a pair of Old Navy Rockstar Jeggings (they are not tight on me – I have lost some weight since these were purchased – these are size 10), but they wear like jogging pants or leggings (Shop now and get 20% OFF your total PROMO CODE: SWEET). Very comfortable and very soft to the touch. These jeans are pull up, no zipper, they don’t have front pockets, but they do have back pockets. The top is from Cato Fashion, Size M, has two straps to hold it on your shoulders and tie at the elbows for cute detail. I love the sleeves on this!! Too cute and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on these blouse- every time I wear it. The shoes are from Amazon Prime Wardrobe(you can read my post about my experience with the Prime Wardrobe- CLICK HERE), Earth Origins Women’s Keri Wedge Sandal,  these are so comfortable  – you can wear these all day and you will think you’ve been in tennis shoes! I have worn these multiple times at the bank, standing all day and shopping before! They are keepers! As we get older we like shoes that are kind to our feet, but we also want shoes that are cute. So this is a win win for us women! These come in different colors, Taupe (shown in picture), Khaki, Black, Dusty Rose and Moroccan Blue. They range from $36.95 to $79.98. The heel is about a 2 1/2 inch heel, block heel and zips up the back.   The jewelry – I paired this cute Ivy Necklace ($26.00) from JBloom Designs with this pendant from Amazon – Gorjana Faye Gold Pendant ($55). The earrings are from JBloom also, they are called Tahiti Earrings ($24.00). You will LOVE these cute earrings, they wear very comfortable and you barely know you have them on! I love earrings like that – I cannot stand to have heavy earrings on. Bracelets are mostly JBloom Designs, I’m wearing the Glory Rose Gold Bracelet ($26) paired with the Uptowne Bangle in Gold ($29), I opted to have the verse, “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.” Those are on my left hand along with my Fitbit (btw – I love my Fitbit!! ha). Right wrist is the Luca and Danni bracelet, Druzy Bangle Bracelet In Metallic Champagne. This is a bracelet that I wear everyday, I alway have this on. The price is $38.00 and it comes in different colors, I purchased mine from Jernigan’s Nursery in Dunn, but you can get the same bracelet online – just click on the name of the bracelet and it will take you to the landing page. The other bracelet with it is from JBloom Design, the Simply Stated Bracelet in Stainless Steel ($32.00). Since I have partnered with JBloom Designs, I have found so many pieces that I actually really like to wear. It has pumped up the desire to wear jewelry again, for the longest time, all I would wear is my wedding band and maybe I would throw on some earrings. I forgot just how good it feels to feel “girlie” lol. Plus, this venture has brought my daughter and I closer together, it has been something that we have done/shared together. I’m sitting here sipping on my coffee getting ready to walk out the door for work and thought I would drop a few lines down really quick. As I am sipping this cup of “oh my gosh, I need this caffeine” coffee, I started to ponder just how good the Lord has been to us. Since I started the blog, less than 3 months ago, I have made some really great friends. Some way or some how, I have stumbled across women that are like minded, go getters, entrepreneurs, moms, boss babes and good ole Christian girls. I have been amazed at how they have reached out and helped me get on my feet, all while running their show and homes. WOW! Two women have really stood out to me in the past month, one is a fellow fashion blogger (she’s a VA girl – my neighboring state) and I’m sure you’ve seen her all over Pinterest! She has the best personality and so down to earth, she has offered her time, guidance, suggestions – I stand amazed. Just a few weeks ago I met a girl from NC, she saw my picture pop up on FB under “People You May Know” and decided to friend me. We got to messaging each other and before you knew it, we are virtual BFF’s (that’s her words too!! haha). Seriously, I am home mostly, I get out some during the week to work part time,  but I really do not have any interaction with a lot of women other than work and social media. I do believe God lets paths cross and I am sure He let these ladies cross my path! How thankful I am, that he would take time to make sure we all found each other. So lets talk fashion ladies! Today I am going old school. Straight up jeans, chucks and a t-shirt, paired with a few pieces of jewelry. Speaking of jewelry, I have a package that is supposed to be delivered today that has some pretties in it! I can’t wait to show those to you girls! I have decided to team up with JBloom Designs, so I will be showing a lot more jewelry, which is coming at the best time of the year – Fall Fashion!! Oh my gosh, before I forget, FOLLOW ALONG with me on Pinterest, we will be focusing more with updos, makeup videos (GRWM), skincare routines, fashion videos (how to’s – like how to tie a scarf 10 ways) and we will have these on our Feature Boards for easy access. Get ready, with Fall Fashion upon us, we will be really busy getting everything to you so you can access this asap! Not sure if you have heard of the Featured Boards on Pinterest, so I will tell you a little bit about it. Basically you are showcasing the very best of what you have to offer. Whether it be fashion, recipes, jewelry, etc. you can have those boards at the front of your page. With mine, we will have the “Shop My Look”, or “Shop This Style” so you can get what you want with just a few clicks! Plus, I am partnering with Ulta and will be trying out different products they have -can’t wait!!
