My Black & White Outfit Kick
January is the month for neutrals, at least that is what is trending on social media and online. Do we ever have too much black? That is a question that I have pondered for many years, going all the way back to when I worked in banking. From what I have learned over the years, the answer is no. And even if we did, we would continue to buy black, beige, white, and greys without even blinking an eye. These are staple pieces and we build are wardrobe around the neutral tones to create different looks, from the classics to adding our own twist of color. Today I am sharing the neutrals that are not only front of the closet, but top of the drawers! Hope you enjoy!
This outfit has been a favorite of mine and I love the trendy vibe. I added a Lee denim jacket from Amazon with the shirred henley blouse from Loft. These are Sneak Preview Items and I have found they don’t last for long. This blouse has a romantic feel with blouson sleeves and a cute ballet neck. I am wearing a large in this for reference. See the blouse here. I styled it with the ottoman midi skirt that is also from Loft. This skirt has spandex in it and the fit is amazing! A better look at the blouse…seriously girls, I am totally recommended this blouse! Wear it at work, to church, or style it with your favorite jeans. You can even step out if you love the trending wide leg corduroy cropped pants to stay on trend. I am loving these from Target right now and will be styling them a few ways this week for you. I couldn’t pass up sharing this Time and Tru Dad coat, I have gotten so many compliments on it and I have been wearing it on repeat, from church to styling it with my leggings and sneakers! This Faux Wool Coat is fully stocked in gray and black right now, but the gray/silver…is totally screaming my name! It fits TTS, lined, has pockets on the side and is a great length to wear with skirts or dresses. See the coat here, and I am wearing a large for reference. A lot of you are loving the looser look that is trendy and we all know I am no stranger to this hot little trend. Comfort is what I’m all about and finding ways to style the look with a little twist that suits my age, keeps my outfits up to date, and I don’t look like I’m trying to hard…I’m all in! Add a long cardigan or duster with a cute crossbody and boots with your looser jeans for an up-to-date look that is suitable for going out with the girls for brunch or dinner out with the fam! Good Snowy Morning Beverly! We were fortunate in my part of Virginia to only get a couple inches . . . but unfortunate that it was topped with ice. I get a work from home day though and was so excited to see a new blog post from you when I checked my email! I’m loving those cream hiking boots and the great sale on them. Love this blog and your style! Just a quick question for reference… do most brands work best for you in a Med/Lg? I think I am very close to your body shape/size, and I prefer things not too clingy, unless they are meant to be worn that way. Sizing online can be so confusing when trying to order… each brand seems to have their own guidelines Lol. Sometimes I get it right, and other times I am wayyyy off.
