Christmas Green & Christmas Beverages

Today I am talking about Christmas beverages, or maybe I should say, winter beverages, and sharing our family traditions with you. It’s getting closer to the “big” day, and I know you don’t want to miss out on any memory making ideas. I am also sharing a blouse that I recently purchased, and I totally love, and it’s a great price!

This Smocked Cuff Portofino Shirt is on sale for $20 right now, and I did not want you girls to miss out on this sale. These come in 9 different colors (some colors are limited in sizes) and fit TTS. These have a lightweight drape and smocked cuffs make this shirt a fresh, romantic addition to your daily wardrobe rotation. Whether you work from home or are back at your job, these are a great buy, plus they look fabulous with jeans. The green, black, and wine look stunning with white jeans also. Add a blazer or a long duster for a trendy look.

Outfit Details: // Blouse // Crossbody // American Eagle Jeans // Boots (similar at Target for $25)

If you like a unique crossbody, these plaid dome crossbody bags are super cute. These come in 6 different plaid combos; mine is the brown/taupe/black combo. More variations in solid or color block colors can be found here. These are only $22 and can be adjusted for any height. I have been wearing mine for the past few days, and I like it enough to give it 5-stars! See the plaid versions here.

Back to the blouse, lol! I love the sleeve detail, the fit of the blouse, the gorgeous color, and the price! I loved it so much I went and ordered the black, white, and truffled pink; I mean…you can never have too many blouses, right? I’m overloaded on sweaters (HAHA!), so I need a few blouses to wear with jeans or ankle pants for date night and other events. We are starting to go back to church, so these are much needed. And for $20, you just can beat it! See the blouse here.

I found this Sugarfix By Baublebar Link Statement Necklace at Target and have had so many compliments on it, I had to share. This is a 17-inch chain (see it in the pic above) and looks perfect with a sweater or a button blouse. I added an extender to this to wear with my turtleneck that also happens to be from Target. See the link necklace here before they get gone, and see the blue turtleneck sweater here. The sweater is on sale for only $14! See it here.

Crockpot Hot Cocoa That Will Be A Family Favorite

Christmas is approaching and if you girls are like me, you are spending more time with family and probably those precious grandkids. Making hot cocoa is a family tradition here, and we found this recipe for the crockpot and love it. We love to make this on cold days (especially when it snows) and we make Christmas Cookies as a family, and everyone gets to decorate theirs with icing and toppings. This has become a fun family tradition that brings plenty of laughter and love.

**Ingredients are listed in the photo and the directions are below.

  1. Stir together the whipping cream, milk, vanilla, and chocolate chips in a 5-quart crockpot (if doubling, use a 6-7 quart slow cooker/crockpot).
  2. Cover and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally with a whisk, until mixture is hot and chocolate chips are melted.
  3. Once it is heated through and chocolate is melted, switch the slow cooker to the warm setting. Stir again before serving. (If you have trouble getting the chocolate to melt, turn to high temporarily).
  4. Garnish individual cups of hot chocolate with whipped cream or marshmallows.

Christmas Morning Punch

Chase and Raegan love this punch, but we don’t call it punch. We call it Santa Is Coming Drinks, lol! We normally make this on Christmas Eve (or for parties and get-togethers). I would freeze this for about an hour and put it in the blender for a “slushy like” drink. They loved it when they were little and they still love it now. It’s an easy punch drink that everyone will love, it’s definitely something to Pin for later!

Beautiful Beverly….You look stunning in Royal Blue (one of my favorite shades of blue). The green blouse is gorgeous on you too. I just said a prayer for Barry that God will give him supernatural strength, peace, comfort and good memories during this Christmas season. My heart breaks for anyone that is suffering a loss of a loved one and more so around the Holidays. Thank you for the hot cocoa and Christmas punch recipes. Stay Safe. xoxo

  • Christine

Beverly, thank you for these pieces. Love the blouse! You mention an extender for the necklace- where do we purchase that?

  • Eve

I love everything about portifino blouses but the sheerness can be a problem. They drape beautifully and I just wish they were not so see through. It may be an age thing. Do you find them a little sheer?
You know, I forget about hot cocoa! With no kids around to remind me, it just slips my mind.
Prayers for your husband. We’ve lost loved ones at Christmas. That makes it tough.

    • Beverly

Hey Eve!! It’s not that sheer at all, you can’t see through it went I’m wearing it. Although, if I were in a workplace I’d probably wear a tank underneath. I used to always wear a tank under everything when I worked. Holds in bulges lol!! Yes, cocoa is so good!! We love it!! And thank you for the prayers. He’s off till Thursday, so I’m keeping busy busy!!
