How To Achieve The Boho Chic Look

A trend that has been popular for quite some time now is the boho-chic look. Have you tried boho casual yet? This is a trend that I have come to embrace and love. From cute kimonos and shorts to wide-leg flowy pants, I’m down with all these bohemian vibes! I love it all! To achieve a bohemian look, there are a few things you must keep in mind.

10 Things You Need To Achieve The Boho Chic Look

  1. Wear prints and don’t be afraid to mix and match them
  2. Wear flowy bottoms or wide-leg pants.
  3. Have a maxi dress in your wardrobe
  4. Try a headband out or a scarf with a cute updo (see my tutorial below)
  5. Try Gladiator sandals
  6. Add a floppy hat to your wardrobe, or a fedora to begin with.
  7. Wear chunky and earthy jewelry
  8. Neutrals are the most popular, but you can embrace color
  9. For boho casual add a big handbag with fringe, for boho-chic add a trendy straw bag
  10. Try a big pair of sunnies and let your light shine!

Today I am sharing my semi twist on the bohemian look. This boho top by Umgee was the most popular blouse on the bog last summer and it’s back in stock for another season. I was gifted this blouse from the boutique I used toward at and honestly when I first saw it, I thought it was nothing that I would wear. I told my boss I would style it and post on social media and I am so glad that I did. It has turned out to be a fave of mine.

This runs a little big, so size down. this blouse looks SO much better on than on a rack or in pictures, so trust me on this one. It has bell sleeves and can be worn off the shoulder or not. I decided to style it with a bralette, so I didn’t feel so “exposed” lol! This blouse looks really good with jean shorts or any kind of denim if you are wondering how you would style it. This comes in different color options, but my favorite is this gorgeous aqua blue/green. See the blouse here. Here are the bralettes I like to wear that are very affordable.

If you haven’t tried a pair of linen blend pull-on pants, you must try a pair for the summer. I purchased these from Old Navy at the beginning of Spring and absolutely love wearing them. They are comfortable, cool, lightweight, and look super cute with sandals or flip flops. And we know, we all have flip flops that we love to wear! These fit TTS, I am wearing a medium in these, so get your normal size. These have an elastic waist and are wide-leg. these come in multiple colors and patterns, check them out here.

I’m sure you have seen these wedges on the blog, but I could not resist wearing them with the linen pants. If you have a cute beige or taupe top, that would look really chic with the white linen pants and these wedges! The wedges fit TTS and are comfortable to wear during the day or out shopping or to brunch with the girls. The heel on these is about 2 1/2-inches. See the wedge sandal here. These wedge sandals have been in the Top 10 most popular items on the blog since May!

I watched you hair video without sound (at work when I’m not busy). Do you have thick hair with lots of layers? Did you curl it first. I love your hair. I’m trying to decide if I should let my hair grow longer with long layers or get it cut shorter. I haven’t had it cut in 4 months so it has really grown out of its style. I would love to be able to pull it up like yours. You look so cute!

Awe!! Thanks Julie. My hair is actually thin but wavy. The updo works well if you have a little bend in your hair. I also have long layers and shorter layers around my face. Thanks for watching!! 😘

Beautiful Beverly….. I hope you get to feeling better. You’re a little go-getter so you know that your sluggishness was not your norm. I really like the blouse. It looks great on you. Also I thoroughly enjoyed your video. I think you need to do more of them when you can. I wore a scarf in my hair on Saturday but as a headband. I will definitely try your up do style. BTW…….. I am glad you like my signature butterflies.
