When You Feel All Hope Is Gone

Life has a funny way of throwing us curve balls when we least expect it, I for one have found myself dodging balls my entire life. In fact, I do not know one person that has gone through life without some type of difficulty. On social media, we see snippets of people’s lives and think they have wonderful lives and a perfect family, but is that accurate?

What we don’t see is the preparation to get that perfect family picture when we are off to church and the dogs are jumping around, the kids aren’t cooperating and tension is running high with the spouse because they are ready to go and don’t feel like smiling for a Facebook on Instagram post.

We all tend to hide the bad parts and let the good shine through. But at times we will hit a part of the mountain we are climbing and feel we can’t pass the next hurdle. You may be feeling that way today for different reasons in your life, but that’s ok. We all are fighting the fight and we are all in this race of life together. No matter what the world tells you, we must remember that we are all one – we are all one race. We are all human and we all have the same needs, to be loved, accepted, and cared for. We all need food, shelter, clothing and the necessities of life.

When you are facing the giant, do not be dismayed. God is in control of all things and he sees exactly what is going on in your life. You may have to go through a storm to see the rainbow. You may walk through a hurricane to get to a beautiful sunny day. Why do we go through these things? Why do we feel like we are closing the book on one storm and we breathe for a moment then another storm slips up and finds us?

These storms, trials, tribulations mold us, build us, and provide us with wisdom. These storms help us in more ways than one. We not only see that we as humans with the grace of God can make it through, but we also can help our children when they deal with storms of life. We can be a shoulder for our neighbor, our work friends, our family. We can be an inspiration to others in telling our story and giving hope.

Hope is a powerful thing! Without hope, our faith will falter. When we keep the faith our hope builds. They go hand in hand. We see hope when we see that others have gone through worse things and make it through and are able to persevere and continue on to a life that is abundant.

Have faith and hope my friends, the Bible tells us after a storm then comes joy in the morning. What does that mean? The storm never lasts for always, we will see brighter days and the hope of a brighter day is attainable. It is a gift that God has given us – so do not be weary, do not let the enemy get you down, do not give in to the naysayers.

You are made in the image of God and if His eye is on the sparrow, His eye is watching you and is working all things for your good. Hold on, pray, have faith and remember that the morning is coming and the storm only lasts for a while.

Have a blessed day!
