2 Fall Looks: Leopard & Buffalo Check

Happy Thursday girls! We had a great night celebrating Barry’s birthday last night and we had way too much cake! Barry graduated Law School from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC (way back when lol), so we got him a few sweatshirts and things to honor his school and all his hard work. He enjoys getting little things like that and we love giving it!

I was out in my yard taking a few pictures and I decided to use the garage door as a backdrop. I see so many bloggers doing this, so why not? I got some pictures taken and thought all was good. When I started looking at the pictures later in the day, something really stood out to me. Boy, do we need to pressure wash the cement! The driveway is something on our project list, we want to rip up our old driveway and lay new cement down…ugh! It seems we keep adding to our list…daily ha! Since more cars are in the driveway (from the kids), it seems appropiate we lay a bigger and more functioning layout.

OK, today I am styling a few pieces from Wal-Mart! Raegan and I were in the store browsing the clothing section a few days ago and I was surprised at the Fall arrivals they had. I picked out a few pieces that are “staple” pieces for me and decided to show them on the blog. I love wearing a shirt as a jacket during the Fall, it’s a quick and lightweight solution to keep my arms warm. Buffalo check is still trending and this Time and Tru shirt was a great price point! For only $15, you just cant beat it.

I styled it with white YMI ragged hem jeans…yes…you can still wear white jeans and pants after Labor Day! In fact, wearing white bottoms is pretty popular the days, we are such rebels these days ha! Since it’s not under 80 degrees yet, I decided to style them with a black tee and my black Jewels by Steve Madden. This is a great crisp casual look to me. Black and white will always be a favorite of mine! When it gets cooler I can add a denim jacket or a great black leather jacket, add some taupe boots and you have a really cute Fall outfit!

I told you girls in a blog post that animal print was still trending and boy is it ever! Snake print is huge right now, whether it’s clothing or accessories, if you like snake print…grab you some up! I like leopard and cheetah print and it’s literally everywhere! This cute Time and Tru leopard cardigan is perfect for the office or for every day wear around the house or to run errands.

The necklace I am wearing is called the Everyday Gold Necklace and is perfect with leopard print. It’s a 20″ to 23″ gold necklace and can be layered with other necklaces, short and long. I recently seen a few girls wearing this and decided I had to have one too! Thanks Johnna! LOL!

Which outfit is your favorite? I love hearing what you girls think!

The bracelets I decided to pair up with both outfits are a mixture and I loved them together! 1) Jionni Jasper 2) Dove Stretch Bracelet 3) Black Braid Leather Bracelet 4) Shale Stretch Bracelet 5) Esther Gold Cuff Bracelet

What’re your thoughts on these items from Wal-Mart? Every time I visit the clothing section here lately, I am finding pieces that I am loving! I love buying highend clothes, but I also like shopping for clothing that I can wear every day that is at a cheaper price. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this…am I the only one that buys from everywhere?

Thanks for stopping by the blog, I know you girls have busy schedules! I appreciate it so much because you are really supporting me and I have found such great friends through thee blog. Today, Raegan and I are doing some shopping and try-ons – I am really trying to get her to participate some LOL! Tomorrow we are getting our Sleep Number Bed delivered, I certainly hope this helps with our aches and pains! I noticed around age 45 that I was starting to get stiff in the mornings, so if you have a Sleep Number – let’s hear your thoughts!

Love that you gave some options for styling white jeans for Fall… I really want to keep wearing mine, but wasn’t sure what to pair with them. I love the buffalo check top!

You are 19 years younger than me and I love your taste and get ideas from every blog. I have loved Walmart’s clothes for years. Often you can purchase a trendy item for less money. I have that buffalo check blouse from last year.

Love both outfits! It seems like nobody in our “small” community wears white after Fall and it makes so much sense since it’s still nice out…by that I mean we aren’t wearing winter coats yet! I haven’t been to Walmart for a long time but hope to get there tomorrow to see some of their Fall line. I do have a black/white checked blouse and I feel that will be in my closet for a long time. Hope Reagan decides to style with you again. That was fun to see. Glad to hear you had a fun birthday party and maybe we’ll be seeing that cake recipe soon 😉

I just started noticing other women wearing it in my area over the past few years. I’m a rebel lol, I wear whatever I’m feeling each day. Some days are better than others 😂. Raegan keeps nagging me to get the Fall Decor up, but I’m having a hard time cause it’s so hot and humid since the storm. I did walk through Wal-Mart and they have beautiful decor right now!! Cross your fingers about Raegan lol. Have a great day Sandy!!!

I like both of the outfits but I’m really partial to cardigans. I live in the deep south and we still fight the old rule of not wearing white after Labor Day. But I do it anyway. I like wearing my white jeans with knee boots in the winter.

Yes!!! I have a pair of beige tall boots I wear with my white jeans and it’s one of my favorite outfits!! (I’m sure you girls will see that look lol). Have a great day and thanks for the comment!!!

Good morning!! I am so glad to hear that the birthday celebration for Barry went well and I look forward to the cake recipe 😉 I like both of these looks so it is difficult to pick a favorite. I recently picked up a few t-shirt type shirts at Walmart to wear as sleep wear. While there I also got a shirt that is like a deep pumpkin color and is so comfortable. I couldn’t believe it when I checked out and found that the shirt was marked down to $3! In the past I haven’t really done any clothes shopping there but it seems like the last year or so they have greatly improved what they carry. Like you I will shop pretty much everywhere. Some of my favorite places to shop are Cato, J.C. Penney, Target, Kohl’s, Belk, Target and Old Navy just to name a few. I very much appreciate that you show clothing that is affordable. I have even stepped out of my comfort zone and I am starting to get some things from Amazon. I have today off and plan on being a bit of a slug 🙂 I picked up some books from the Library and will probably spend some time reading. I hope that you have a great day!
P.S. Believe it or not I love to pressure clean so maybe I should take a little trip to N.C. and work on your driveway 😉

😂😂oh my gosh, I busted out laughing at that last line!! For the record, we know I told Barry on his birthday-now let’s see how long before it gets done lol 😆Your favorite places are some of mine too. I’m heading to Old Navy today with Raegan, I saw some great items online this week and want to get a closer look lol. I will probably post a few try ons of some things. Enjoy your quiet time!! Don’t you love a good book!!??

I’ve been wearing white jeans the past couple of years well into the fall, especially since living at the beach. Seems like anything goes here, LOL! I’m a long time fan of the leopard prints. Seems like they went out for a bit but glad to see they’re coming back. Love the sweater. I just ordered mine!

Leave a Comment, I'd love to hear from you!
