Styling a Simple Black Dress Multiple Ways

Happy Tuesday!! Hope your week is off to a great start, mine has had a twist this week! Brooklyn is staying with us a few more days, her mom has taken ill to a stomach bug so we are watching her a few more days. I have to start planning things to do, yesterday we had thunderstorms here, so we were inside most of the day. We must break free today HA!

Today I am styling a simple black knit dress multiple ways for you. This is a very inexpensive item that can be worn in various ways – you just need a little imagination! I love wearing a knit dress in the summer, it’s cool and this one has pockets, which makes it a bigger win for me! I found this dress at Walmart and it comes in multiple colors, see it HERE. I looked online and I did not see black in stock, but plenty of other colors were available for around $12. I found a similar dress at Gap for only $14, see it HERE.

I thought I would style this with a simple denim jacket from Amazon and pair it with Vince Camuto Espadrilles. if you haven’t purchased espadrilles this summer, you will really enjoy these! The wedge on this one is only an inch in height, so it is very comfortable and easy to wear. Outfit Details are under each picture for you to browse if you like.

I wanted to show how versatile cardigans can be, so I am styling the orange cardigan with the knit dress today! This is a more “Casual Friday” or an out to dinner at Applebee’s kind of outfit. I wanted to pair this with these cute Steve Madden leopard print sandals and I knew it would look so cute with the orange cardy! Any color of cardigan would work with this dress, but a bright color really makes it pop! Add a long beaded necklace and it will give the outfit a dressier look.

Wanting to go casual? No problem! Wear the dress by itself and still look chic and cute! I am wearing a Small in this dress and I normally wear a Medium or an 8 for reference.

These leopard sandals are so cute, I really hate for you girls to miss out! They look really – really good with jeans and white shorts too!

Wanting to look sporty? Wrap a denim blouse around your waist and add some Double Decker tennis shoes and you will look fabulous! Add a baseball cap and you will be the cutest Mom at the ballpark watching your kids play! These Keds tennis shoes are some of my favorites, here lately I have been wearing them daily while we have been doing all this rearranging in the house! These come in multiple colors and you can see them HERE.

Special Mention! Crown & Ivy!

Outfit Details: // Cardigan // Top // Shorts // Sandals

When Barry and I went shopping at our local Belk store, we got a lot of great deals on Crown & Ivy and these shorts were part of that shopping spree. Shop Crown & Ivy HERE, Belk is still having a big sale going on now! Down here in the South, girls like to wear cute and fun prints on their short and these are FUN! I wore this outfit Sunday and let me tell ya, it is comfy! I decided to style the Lucky Brand flat espadrilles with this outfit, ahhhh…I love these sandals! These sandals come in multiple colors, you can see them HERE.

Good morning! Thanks for the ideas of things to wear with a simple summer dress. I recently bought a couple of dresses at Old Navy and these tips will come in handy. I love the more affordable prices at Old Navy and Walmart this summer. I hope that you and Brooklyn have a great time together! 🙂

Cute looks today. I’ve found several styles of this type dress on Amazon. Some with pockets and some without but they are so comfy and cool for summer. You’ve given great ideas how to style them.

It is only the 9th of July and since I have bought 2 tops and a purse from Cato’s, 2 dresses from Old Navy and a pair of shoes from DSW, I have already blown through my personal budget for the month! I am already starting on my wish list for next month 😉

I’ve done the same thing, but it’s been items for the house. I’m trying to persuade Barry for a new desktop. Not sure he will give up his budget money for me 😂😂

These outfit ideas are so cute !! I really love the last casual one as that would SO be me!! I have a knee length dress on right now as I love wearing dresses/skirts in the summer versus shorts. We went to a funeral this morning and I wore a casual knee length dress and was so comfortable. Those shorts you have on are really cute..course I would need them a tad longer…LOL Is that the “ice blue” color of sweater you have on with the shorts? Now I’m thinking maybe I DO need a short sleeve sweater 😉 I like the red and pink colored ones too. Decisions, decisions. I’m sure having Brooklyn and little longer didn’t break your heart did it grandma!!!

Yes this is the ice blue, I wear this one a lot!! I’m thinking of getting that pink one myself. No, having Brooklyn around has been great, but I’m not going to lie-I’m whopped again lol
