In Times of Doubt, Remember That You Are His!

Good Sunday morning! Last day of the weekend and the last day to relax before heading back off to work Monday…why do weekends go by so fast? We have had a great visit with Brooklyn this weekend. She never ceases to amaze me, she is so stinking funny! We went shopping and picked up a few items for her and that child already has a flair for style. She loves sparkly things and girlie things!

We were in Walmart looking around and she came across a silver pleated skirt and loved it. We had picked it up to buy, but she kept finding other items she liked so I put the skirt back and we started to walk off. She stopped very quickly and said…”Where’s my skirt? Don’t forget the skirt and the unicorn shirt grandma.” I found out right then, she was NOT leaving without that roller derby, 80’s vibe, shiny silver skirt! HA! I snickered under my breath and grabbed it and rolled that cart right to the checkout! She definitely has a taste for BLING!!

All week I have been in prayer and thoughts with the Lord and at times I feel as if I am so insignificant in this big old world. I know at times we all feel as if we are doing our best to get through this life. Everywhere you turn there is something bad happening. A week or so ago, I was reading in the news where someone had left a baby in a bag in the woods near some houses. A baby y’all! Some people that lived near the edge of those woods happened to come home from vacation and as they were unpacking the car they kept hearing a faint cry. After looking around they found the bag and untied it to find this new baby. That was God moving in that child’s life making sure it would be found and taken care of. The baby is fine and an outpouring of love has come for her with this news.

2 Corinthians 6:18 “And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty.

No matter what is going on in our lives, we have to keep in mind that God has the LAST word! God said we are HIS! God said that we are Strong through Him. God said that He would never leave nor forsake us. God said we are an heir to the Throne! God said we are HIS – I needed to say that again because we get bombarded by the devil. The devil wants you to believe that you can’t make it, the devil wants you to have constant chaos in your life. The devil wants to steal your joy. The devil wants to hinder you in every way possible, so you won’t reach your potential and stop the blessings of God! Let that sink in!

“Storms can bring fear, cloud judgment, and create confusion. Yet God promises that as you seek Him through prayer, He will give you wisdom to know how to proceed. The only way you will survive the storm will be on your knees.”  Paul Chappell

We all feel like life is overwhelming at times and I love to listen to music to pep me up when I am feeling bogged down. I am going to share the lyrics of a song that is being played in different genres of music right now. It is a Christian song and boy has it had an impact on my way of thinking. When in doubt about anything, when you feel lonely, hurt or confused, remember that you are HIS!

You Say

I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know

You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe, oh I believe
What You say of me
I believe

The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You, I find my worth, in You, I find my identity

You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short

Such powerful words to remind of us of just who we are. We are the blood-bought church, an heir to the Throne and the sibling of Jesus Christ. No matter what is going on in our lives, He says WE belong to Him. Every time I hear that…I break down and tear up. What a love He has for us. He watches the birds and makes sure they are fed and I know He watches over ME! Isn’t that something to get excited about? The devil may try and bring doubts into your mind – remind him of who you ARE!

Good Sunday afternoon!! I have been crazy busy for the past 3 days with doing projects around here with Troy and then going to work. I have Monday and Tuesday off so maybe I can catch my breath. Brooklyn is so cute! Maybe you could get grandma and grand daughter outfits and post it sometime 😉 That baby that you spoke of that was found in the woods was found here in the Atlanta area. I am so glad that she was found and now has a chance of having a loving family. The song lyrics that you wrote I actually have as the ring tone on my phone 🙂 I have an urgent prayer request please? One of my best friends lost her mom unexpectedly 2 weeks ago. She and I grew up together and were class mates in N.H. She and her husband live here in Georgia now as well. Her father is in very poor health and is dealing with Alzheimer’s so she and her husband are still in N.H. with him trying to get things straightened out after her mother’s passing. Well, she received a phone call yesterday that her brother which is also her only sibling was killed in a motorcycle accident. She is in absolute shock and is feeling as though she is loosing her whole family. She was never able to conceive so she has no children. I am praying that her faith will sustain her through all of this! Thank you so much!!

Oh my gosh that is horrible for your friend. I will definitely be praying for her and her family. That is tragic! I wasn’t sure where that baby was found -isn’t that horrible!??!! I was in total shock when I read the news.

I know you have been busy which reminds me I have more tasks to do here. You and Sandy inspire me so much!! No grass grows under neither one of your feet!! Oh, I LOVE that song and tear up every time I hear it!! It’s so moving and such a good reminder!!! How’s the new church going?

Well it is almost 11:00 P.M. CST. We are just getting home from celebrating our grandson’s 3rd birthday but I’m trying to unwind even though I had over a 2 hour car ride to do that. Brooklyn does sound like a hoot and love the idea of a grandma/Brooklyn outfit post! Oh goodness…I love the lyrics to this song so tomorrow I will be googling it so I can see how the tune goes as I have not heard it and how ironic that Kelly has it as a ringtone. And Kelly…yes, prayers lifted up for your friend as once again, we don’t have the answers as to “why” so much is happening in her life right now so she is going to have to hold strong to her faith and prayer. Beverly, you work just as hard….our work is just different. I could never do what you do with your blog and keep up on answering everyone of us who responds to you or asks questions of you so don’t sell yourself short as you are just as busy as Kelly and I. This grandma is heading to bed…see you at morning coffee! Oh…I like the blog photo of the 3 gals with coffee chatting 🙂
