Makeup Capsule: Stay All Day Makeup

Happy Wednesday! Hope you girls are having a great week so far. It has been a treacherous 100 degrees here in North Carolina and sometimes we need a little help with makeup lasting all day. If I looked for products to last all day, I was sure other women were looking for products too. So I thought I would share a few.

Whether you are trying to combat the heat and humidity of summer, or you simply need a makeup look that will last from morning to night, these are some of my top products that will stay all day.

I really like the NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil it is a brand that works! When I have worn NARS I only have needed to reapply once in the afternoon or evening because it felt a bit dry. It truly lasted all day!

Stay All Day Makeup Faves

One. Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder. This is my favorite setting powder, whether I’m using a full coverage foundation or not! It will help your makeup last so much longer when you dust a bit of this on top of your foundation.

Two. Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Liquid Foundation. I love this foundation for a full-coverage long-wear option. If applied with a brush, you’ll get the fullest coverage. If you want to thin out the coverage a bit, use a damp beauty blender.

Three. Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara. The non-waterproof version is a fantastic mascara for thickening and volumizing. The waterproof version is the best for lasting all day and holding a curl in the lashes for a bit longer too!

Four. NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil. If they came out with a soft nude pink shade of this pencil, it would be all I wear. This pencil is long-lasting without being overly dry and I love that it doesn’t fade from the center of the lips even after hours of wear.

Five. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. It’s hard to beat Anastasia brow products and the Dipbrow pomade is going to give you the cleanest, longest-lasting brow. Use a small angled brush to apply!

Six. NARS Liquid Blush. A liquid blush looks natural on the skin, blends beautifully into foundation, and gives you the control to choose how intense the finish is. I love working this product into my cheeks with a flat top brush.

Seven. Covergirl Outlast All Day Lip Color. I was so impressed by this drugstore lip product. If you follow the directions on how to apply, it will last for hours and hours! I love that the gloss/top coat is clear so it’s all you need to add a burst of hydration to your lips if they start to feel dry.

Eight. Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Duo. I use this product almost every time I do my makeup. It may be the most flattering contour and glow product I’ve ever used! A tiny bit will add the softest, most natural looking finish to the skin but it can easily be built up for a more dramatic contour and glow!

Nine. Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Full-Coverage Concealer. This concealer will not budge after you apply it. A little goes a long way and it adds brightness and covers even the darkest under eye circles.

Ten. Tarte Tartelette Tease. This is a tiny palette but it packs a lot of power. The shadows are pigmented and the color options are all you need to create a simple daytime eye or glam it up with some more intense, darker shades.

Eleven. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. This liquid liner is easy to use and will not smear. I like using it right at the base of my lashes or if I’m ever tempted to do a proper cat eye with liquid liner. The felt tip is flexible enough to feel comfortable and deposits an even amount of liner when you use it.

Twelve. MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot. This is a fool-proof way to make sure your eyeshadow doesn’t budge. I like using Soft Ochre or Painterly for a neutral shade or some of the shimmery shades as a one & done eyeshadow look.

What’s your favorite makeup products?

I’m so jealous of your WARM temps…humidity and all ! It is raining AGAIN here this morning which means another dreary day. Thank you for the make-up tutorial. It does get confusing with all the options for make-up that are out there. I’m off to a hair appt so don’t have to worry about humidity and hair today. Have a great day!

Wow, I would love to have no humidity all summer. My hair does good only in the fall for a few months ha!! We wear ponytails and hoods a lot around these parts ha!! Enjoy your day!!! We are off to the doctors yuk!!

Good morning! It is going to be another hot day here as well today with a high of 95 degrees. Because it will be so hot Troy and I are planning on doing some work inside the house. We decided since moving into this house last summer a downstairs room that we aren’t really using is going to become our office and the upstairs room that we have been using as an office we will now move our exercise equipment into it and it will be an exercise room. That will leave us plenty of room in the bonus room for when our grandchildren come to visit. As for makeup, I was using Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow by Benefit but just recently switched over to IT Celebration Foundation which is a full coverage anti-aging hydrating powder foundation. I really like it so far but I have been using an inexpensive Elf brand brush to apply it because I didn’t want to spend $48 on a IT brand brush and I don’t really care for the Elf brush. Do you have a recommendation for a good brush that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? I was also using Pore Fessional by Benifit primer under my foundation and also recently switched to the cheaper Baby Skin by Maybelline. It works pretty well and is a lot cheaper but I really like the Pore Fessional so I may go back to it once the other is used up. The other makeup that I am using is the Bye Bye Under Eye concealer which I love and have been using for a couple of years now, the Bare Minerals powder blush, They’re Real mascara by Benefit and the Gimme Brow by Benefit. I don’t wear eye shadow, eye liner or lipstick. Thanks for the makeup suggestions and I hope you have a great day and are able to stay cool!
P.S. So sorry Sandy that you are still dealing with so much rain. Still praying for you all!

Good morning! It is going to be another hot day here with a forecast of 95 degrees. Because of the extreme heat Troy and I will be working inside. We have a room downstairs that really isn’t being used so we decided to move our office furniture downstairs into that room and use the upstairs room as our exercise room and move the exercise equipment from the bonus room into it. That will free up a lot of space in the bonus room for when we have grand children visit. As for the makeup that I am wearing right now, I recently started using IT brand Celebration Foundation which is a full coverage anti aging hydrating powder foundation. I like the foundation but had bought an inexpensive Elf foundation brush and I am not very pleased with it. Do you have a recommendation for a good powder foundation brush that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? When I got the foundation at Ulta they recommended the IT brush but it was about $48! The powder is a pressed powder in a compact and not a loose powder. Anyway, the other things I am using are mostly IT or Benefit brand cosmetics and I am very pleased with them. I hope you have a great day and are able to stay cool!
P.S. So sorry Sandy that you are still dealing with so much rain. I am still praying for you all!!

I like working at home so I don’t have to wear any. Lol This heat is horrible. We put in a new heat pump last year and feels like heaven in here. Thank God. Can you believe Hot and Flashy responded to a comment I made? If you can’t be a big wig may as well write one. Lol

LOL!! I have had some huge bloggers reply to me also. I know they get a lot and get busy, but I made a promise no matter what my following I was going to try and respond the best I could. Now- for some reason, these comments went into my Spam folder under comments. I have never had that happen, so I am now responding and fixing them! You are doing great Tammy- I love your graphics on your blog!

A very timely post for me. I’m going to Ulta tomorrow and I’m picking up a couple of your suggestions. Definitely the concealer and maybe the liquid blush. I’ve never used that and would have been afraid to try it before. I like Tarte so that looks like a good choice too with the neutral colors. I don’t do a lot of eye shadow. Just enough to highlight my eyes a little. Thanks for all this info. It will come in handy when I go shopping tomorrow. I use several It Cosmetic products and like them a lot. Especially a powder foundation they have when I want more coverage. The Ulta brushes by It are great too. I have a set of those that came in a little travel case. Have a good day and see ya tomorrow.

Did you go to Ulta? So funny you told me you were going, made me think of a few things I need to get. Brooklyn and I are going to go tomorrow and do a little shopping. You can spend a weeks paycheck in there! HA!!
