Night Out – Styling A Maxi Dress

Happy Saturday friends! What a week we have had, it feels like a Sunday to me. Being at the beach has really messed my days up! Although, I have thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and having no responsibilities! I miss the kids and the Princess Ziva (the Goldendoodle). I am ready to get home and see everyone, but I’m a little worried what the house is going to look like LOL!

I told you girls we had stopped by the Outlets here in MB and shopped a little and this is a few items I picked up Thursday. I wanted to get a maxi dress to wear out to eat, but I have had a hard time finding one that I really liked. Barry wasn’t really loving this dress, but I sure was! He says these type dresses make you look “boxy”, and I had to explain to him they are made that way. Comfort is what these are for!

This is the Floral Maxi Dress from the Loft Outlet and it has a blouson waist that I love! The elastic waist hits high and gives the dress a flowy look. This is a soft and stretchy fit (it is really soft), hits at the ankle and has a V-strap in the back. It’s normally $79.99 and is on sale for $47.99, plus you get an extra $10 off a $100 purchase using code SUNNY. See the maxi dress HERE.

I tied the dress up at the hem to give bring the length cup just a bit so I could show off the new sandals I got LOL! Just kidding!! I know this is a trend going on right now, but it actually helps you walk in these maxi dre4sses so much easier! Sometimes I have had on a maxi dress and stepped on the hem – that’s not a good thing!! Tieing a knot in the hem (high or low – your preference) helps keep the dress from getting in your way when you are walking and it’s a cute fun detail!

Barry LOVES to find pictures and play around with them, so here we are when we were at Broadway On The Beach having a little fun. He gets into it huh? LOL!

I chose to use a Circle Clutch from JustFab. If you have never ordered from JustFa, you can snag up your first item for 75% off! This Circle Clutch has a leopard print lining and I use it right much when going out, it holds all my essentials and fits perfect under your arm. It’s normally $29.95, but if this is your first piece you can get it around $7!! See the clutch HERE.

Let’s talk about the sandals that I picked up from the Steve Madden Outlet. these are called the Jaida and boy do I like these! This was my first night wearing them and I kept telling Barry how they wore really nice and my feet did not hurt. And girl, we walked and walked and walked more at Broadway On The Beach. There are all kinds of shops, restaurants, activities for children to do – it’s HUGE!

These shoes have a rubber sole on the bottom but has a slight heel (about 2 inches) built into the platform. I thought these were really cute! They have some padding in them so I was banking on them not hurting my feet. These come in black, gold and tan leather. The tan leather is very low, but there is quite a few left in the black and gold. I found some on Amazon that was cheaper, you can see them HERE.

You can also find these at DSW in the tan, black, gold and snake print. They are $59.99, but you can use the AfterPay plan and pay only $15 every 2 weeks – I use the AfterPay service all the time. Quite a few stores offer this easy payment method. makes it much easier for me to purchase a nice quality shoe without killing me all at once. See them HERE.

We are heading on home today so I am busy getting things packed and cleaned! Thank you all for the wonderful Birthday wishes, that was so sweet!! Thanks for sharing in our little getaway and thanks so much for stopping by the blog! Have a fantastic Saturday ladies!!

OMG…I started chuckling out loud when I saw the photos Barry wanted by the dinosaurs. Brooklyn will really enjoy that photo! I love the maxie dress and those sandals look cute and comfortable. I guess that tells you that Barry likes seeing your “figure” in your clothes if he didn’t like the fullness of the maxi so that is a big compliment to you. I wear a lot of maxi skirts and dresses in the summer because I don’t have to worry about my legs or bending over and they are dressy yet casual. In fact, I just bought one at a local boutique yesterday (hope I didn’t make too hasty of a decision as I NEVER buy something one day and take the tags off the next) . I wanted a “new” one to wear to our granddaughters dance recital tonight so yes…traveling back to the city to watch her do a tap and a ballet dance. She’ll probably be on stage a total of 10 min. and the recital will last over two hours as you watch all the classes. We will spend the night so we don’t have to drive back home so late. Have a safe trip back and….you never know…maybe the kids will have the house all in order as a little birthday gift to you 😉 Glad you had a great time and once again, Barry did great on your outdoor photos!!!

Barry needs his own blog. The dress doesn’t make you look boxy, lol. It looks gorgeous on you! Can I borrow it for my bday pic? LOL jk Yeah think about Barry’s blog now. He could call it Styling with Barry at 60 or something. LOL Ya’ll look great.

Cute pics with the dinosaur. Love them. I’m a big maxi dress fan. I live in them in summer because nothing is cooler and more comfy. You always find the best shoes. They are my weakness & I always want to buy every pair you post on here. I hope you had good vacation. I can’t wait until we’re able to take one. I’d live on the beach if I could. Safe travels home.
