Coffee & Girl Talk

Good Sunday morning ladies! Grab a cup of coffee and let’s chat for a few minutes! So many things have been going on this week and Christmas is coming… WOW!! Only a couple of weeks left before Santa makes his big debut! I hate to say it, but I’m still slacking on my gift buying. You moms and wives out there who have it all together and organized – my hat is off to you! How do you do it??

As most of you know, I am a Marketing Director for a Boutique in my hometown and we have been extremely busy since October. I have worked long days, worked from home – stayed up late working on the blog and actually working my own business and at times I just can’t seem to feel like I’m ever caught up.

Moms and wives can relate to this:

The other night I came home around 8 o’clock at night and the first thing I see once I make it into the kitchen is our trash can. I must give someone a shout out here today for their ability to stack the trash in the trash can as high as my hip! Really? Why is up with kids of all ages who try so hard to pile everything they can into a trash can instead of emptying it? GEEZ!! And of course no one knows how to empty it but mom! Rant over…:)

Clarity Hit Me Hard!

In the midst of me looking around the house and seeing everything that needed to be done, overwhelmed because obviously, I am the only one who sees these things – it hit me! I must pack up and take an “ME” vacation. No, seriously, I sat there feeling totally whooped. To get my mind off my reality, I decided to hop on Facebook and see what everyone else was up to. I ran across this video of a little girl that was deaf who had gone to see Santa. When Santa found out she was deaf he began to sign with her.

At that moment, I realized just how fortunate I was. I was feeling stressed over the house and my kids who were lacking in cleaning skills. That was small potatoes compared to others that are going through so much more! My kids do not have a disability, we are all healthy and even though the house was is dissaray, we had a home.

There are so many people out there who are worse off; at times it’s so hard to see past our own hardships, trials, etc. The little things that absolutely drive us insane…and then reality hits us right square in the face and brings us down a notch. Things could be so much worse. When you look at it like that, what’s a little trash, huh? (I still get on those kids about chores though!)

So, what’s going on with the blog this week?

This week I will be styling some Winter Outfits and some Holiday Party Outfits. We have a photo shoot lined up and I can’t wait! We will be showcasing a historic part of the city, I am so excited!! I’m not going to lie, I have been trying to keep my photos inside the house because of the weather, but I think it’s time to get a little cold. Plus, we will be doing some night photos with Christmas lights and Ziva (the Goldendoodle) will be featured in those! (We may have to postpone this if NC gets snow like the weatherman is predicting – or maybe we will just take photos in the snow!!)

AWWEEEEEEEE……

One more thing before I head off to church to get my worship on, I have to tell you ladies about a new product I tried this week. I thought I had tried almost every product Rodan+Fields had to offer, but I have not! I was looking around at some new gift sets and came across a pure gem!

REDEFINE LIP RENEWING SERUM

This baby just went to the top of my “I have to keep this in my house” list. It is by far the best lip serum- chapstick – anything in that category- I have ever tried. In fact, my entire family is now using this. It’s a conditioning lip serum that reduces the look of lip wrinkles and visibly smooths lip texture. Plus, it’s one heck of an item if you have chapped lips- if you get fever blisters-I can only see this helping!! They are in little capsules that you tear the top off and squeeze the product onto your fingers then apply.

My husband and I tried them the other night and 3 hours later you could tell you still had the product on. I knew right then that this would be the best thing we could have for the cold weather. If you are like us, we have chapsticks everywhere!

These capsules are infused with Peptides and Vitamin E, this all-in-one lip moisturizer and serum is designed to condition, revitalize and calm your lips. Shea Butter and oils layer on moisture, and its refreshing, cooling, tingling sensation allows you to feel the potent ingredients at work. (60 capsules)

I do love to share with you ladies when I find something that is REALLY good! Skincare is the #1 thing on my list as I’m getting older and the lips goes right along with it lol!!

I’m closing this out and heading off to church with Barry and Brooklyn, I do hope all of you have a great day and enjoy your Sunday!! Oh, Barry and I will be celebrating 8 years of marriage on Monday – that 8 years flew by! We are going out to dinner tonight to celebrate, maybe he will let me get in a picture with him to share. LOL! See you back on the blog Monday!
