5 Products Every Woman Over 40 Needs

Unlike wine and cheese, sadly…our bodies are not made to get better with age. Sighhhh! From seeing our first wrinkle around the eye to our hair thinning from having children or menopause – we cannot stop the aging process. But…we can reverse some things! Today I am sharing a few thing that are absolute must-haves for me! Over the past five years, I have made a point to start taking better care of myself. From healthy eating and exercising to nourishing my skin and hair, I take each thing I do very seriously these days. I’m not going to lie ladies…I do not like getting older, but I cannot stop what is inevitable. I can, however, treat things that are not like they used to be and at least give the illusion of a more youthful appearance. 1. Exfoliate to a younger YOU! As I entered my 40’s, I started to notice my skin becoming drier, anyone else?? I learned about dry brushing and the benefits, read that post here, so I added that into my self-love routine. That’s when I learned about exfoliating and how important it is as we get older. Removing all those dead skin cells is imperative when fighting the aging process. I have two scrubs that I use regularly that I LOVE! Micro-Dermabrasion Paste by Rodan and Fields, this can be used on your face and body – it’s a sugar and salt formula that reveals smooth skin and helps with uneven skin tone. The second is Herbivore Coco Rose Coconut Oil Body Polish. I like using this one in the bathtub, the smell is AWESOME and it gets me in a spa-like state of mind and I tend to relax more. The coconut oil and Moroccan rose hydrate the skin while chunky grains leave you feeling thoroughly exfoliated. 2. Under Eye Bags? Say Bye-Bye! I have always struggled with sensitive eyes, which resulted in puffy eyes and under-eye bags…the struggle has been REAL! I have always been careful with my skincare and makeup products because of my allergies and having babies, being tired, and aging has not helped. I have purchased product after product to decrease under-eye puffiness and I was wasting my money. I would throw away tubes and bottles of $$ staright out the door; drawers full of unused products because nothing was giving me a quick fix. Chambray Blouse + Espadrilles

Happy Monday girls!! I hope your weekend has been a great one and your Monday is starting out on a happy note. Mondays are always busy for me, this is the day I try to get my pictures taken and get my outlines completed for the weekly blog posts. Since Barry is now taking pictures for me, and his schedule is 3 days on/3 days off, I may be pushing my office day to his day off. I have told him how much you girls liked the outdoor pictures and I’m not going to lie…he’s getting more serious about his picture taking skills HAHA!! I was browsing on Pinterest and got my inspiration for today’s outfit. I love a denim or chambray shirt, especially with white shorts or white pants! I looked everywhere for my denim shirt – to no avail- and ordered one from Old Navy when a sale was going on. I paired this with a pair of white Riviera Shorts from The Loft, but this would be a great top with longer Bermuda shorts also. I like to wear a long sleeve denim top over a t-shirt in the summer (kind of like a lightweight jacket) anyone else like to do that? I think I picked that up from my Mom, she has done it for years. The Chambray Shirt comes in Regular, Tall and Petite, it’s $29.99 (regular price) and comes in Sizes XS-XXL. It comes in a Light Wash color and the one I am wearing, which is the Medium Wash color. I like this shirt because it has the distressed or “worn” look on the front and on the elbows. Reminds me of denim shirts my grandpa used to wear. See the denim shirt HERE. I have worn these white Riviera Shorts before on the blog and I must say they are some of my favorite shorts. Plus, for some reason, I get white dirty very easily! Do you girls own more than 1 pair of white shorts or pants? I have had a few ask me about the sunglasses that I have been wearing and the black ones in the beach photos are by Quay and are around $65 a pair. The ones I am wearing today are from Amazon and are called LUENX Aviator sunglasses, they are only $16.99 and these are great shades if you are looking for a cheaper pair. I have had these since the summer of 2017 and they come in a very sturdy zipper case. See the sunglasses HERE. The cute purse I am styling is from NY & Co and it’s called the Wooden Handle Tote Bag. It has a strap to it so it can be worn on the shoulder or crossbody, it is made of leather and snaps underneath the wooden handles. I ordered a lot of clothes and accessories from NY & Co a few weeks back and did not think this bag was as large as it is. I like a bigger bag and was really pleased with this one. It is sturdy and I really like the round handle look, it’s very popular right now and this makes a perfect summer bag for casual or dressy days. These are 1-inch platforms and wear GREAT! Wear a Leopard Kimono 2 Ways

Happy Wednesday! I hope you girls are having prettier weather, it was so nice out the past few days–made me hope for sunny days at the beach! It’s been around 70 degrees and that is perfect during the day, gets a tad chilly at night. I walked out of the house with leggings and a t-shirt on to go to the gym and as soon as I stepped outside, I turned right back around and got a sweatshirt to put on. I’m not going to lie–my real thoughts were–it’s really chilly out…do I really NEED to go to the gym??? HA!! I’ve been holding on to this post for a right good while, I LOVE leopard print and I mean anything with leopard print is my friend! I found a leopard print long kimono and couldn’t wait to show you girls. It is so stinking cute and so easy to look stylish in this. It doesn’t matter how you wear it, you’re going to look like a million bucks! make sure you get you some big sunglasses and you will look like you walked straight out of Hollywood! This is an item that you can wear multiple ways and I wanted to show just a few. Summer is coming, so we want to buy items that will be versatile and carry us through Spring, Summer and into Fall if possible! This leopard kimono was one of the last from the Boutique, but I found some really cute ones that come in different lengths and darkness of print below. This is a camisole from Loft and has been a go-to for me for a long time. It washes up great and I normally dry it on low. I have NEVER had to steam it or iron it, so that is a total win for me!
