Blazer & Jacket Outfits For Women Over 40

The blazer is fast becoming a huge trend and is a staple piece for any woman’s closet. Whether you style it as workwear, with a dress, or with jeans, it’s a piece that is timeless and chic. Today I am styling a few of my favorite blazers , showing how I style mine for a casual everyday look. The blazer is also a great way to cover up when you have added a few holiday pounds (anyone else with me on this??), or when you want to take an ordinary outfit and give it a chic “out-together” look.

First up is the classic denim jacket! I styled my outfit with the Portofino Blouse from Express and Ponte Leggings from Loft Outlet. The Ponte leggings are the main bottoms in this post, can you believe this is my first pair from The Loft? I am loving them! They are thick enough to wear through winter easily and made well enough to wear to work with a sweater or blouse with booties or pumps. See the Ponte leggings here and they are 50% off! Take an extra $10 off with a purchase of $75 or more.

When Talbot’s has a sale, I am all over it! I purchased this gorgeous Classic Shetland Blazer which is 40% off right now and fits TTS. This is a quality made blazer that has a classic chic vibe to it. This will look gorgeous with white jeans or dress pants, boots, or pumps. If you are like me, style with a turtleneck, jeans, and white sneakers for a classic chic casual style. See the blazer here.

One of my favorite jackets is this timeless beige Cargo Jacket. It is so easy to style this for a casual outfit or for a dressier look. Style it with white ankle pants and pumps for a dressier look, or go comfy casual with jeans and boots. The jacket fits TTS, see it here. Throw this over your shoulders with a cute dress now and for later! The Spacedye Turtleneck is on sale for $16 and fits TTS, see it here.

This Brushed Knit Blazer is one of my favorites, I like it so well – I have 2 of these. These are absolutely THE MOST comfortable and flattering blazers I have ever worn. They are back in stock at Banana Republic, so I had to share it with you girls. This truly is a must-have, at least it is for me. I will be styling this with dresses, jeans, leggings, and even joggers. These are 40% off and fits TTS. See the blazer here.

Not a fan of the burgundy? This is the grey/black version. It has a tiny bit of speckling in the material and looks fabulous with anything! I know you have seen me style this multiple ways, so if I wear it this much – it’s definitely a great buy. Try this blazer with a graphic tee with joggers and sneakers, or step out with cropped jeans or pants with pumps or booties for a dressier look.

I had to show this gorgeous Pearlized Button Cuff Sweater that is on sale for only $16 right now. This fit TTS, I ordered up and wish I had gotten my normal medium. This comes in black and a gorgeous heather grey and is thinner, so it perfect for layering. See the sweater here. Happy Christmas Eve! I am not much of a blazer person but love the look of the one from Banana Republic. Sorry that I have been MIA. Troy and I have been sick since last Friday and we are still not up to snuff. We went Tuesday to get a Covid rapid test done and tested negative. The NP that we saw said that the rapid test is about 50% accurate so I guess we could have stayed home and flipped a coin. My youngest daughter, Katie and her family have rented a house in N.C. We were suppose to go there yesterday to spend the night with them and come home later today. She had all of the “Santa” gifts sent here to me to wrap and then bring with us. Finding out that we wouldn’t be well enough to go there put us into a bit of a panic. I found out what route they were taking from Florida and found that they would be passing through Elberton which is where we used to live. Thanks to a friend of mine there we made the 1 1/2 hour trip and dropped off the gifts in suitcases etc at the friends garage. Katie and her family stopped by and got the things on their way through. Operation “Santa Claus” was a success! My youngest son was in a car accident that same day and is ok except for loss of hearing, some burns and body aches. Our oldest daughter and her family have been planning on coming here the day after Christmas to spend a week and now that is on hold depending on how we are feeling. It hasn’t felt much like Christmas and I haven’t been online much. Just wanted to catch you up on all of the drama 🙂 I loved seeing the pictures of Brooklyn photo bombing. I pray that you and your family have a most wonderful and very blessed Christmas my friend!!

Hey Kelly!! Merry Christmas!! I’m so sorry you’ve been sick! Those tests are not accurate unless try go way up the nose on both sides. It is like flipping a coin, many tested + but were really negative and some tested negative but were positive. I hope you are feeling much better. Prayers for all of you!

Black pants and boots just make a great foundation. I love blk pants and boots with white top to add just about any jacket but denim is my favorite. Brown boots are my favorite color in boots and I do like the brown with black trend right now. I remember when that was a no no. But so was blue with green at one time. The times they are a changing. Love to you and yours and looking forward to new year of blog.

Merry Christmas Beverly! Blazers are a huge staple in my wardrobe. It’s my go to outfit when I wear skinny jeans and heels. Love all those outfits you styled. We exchanged gifts last night with my hubby & kids and tonight is with the whole family. Have a wonderful day & Merry Christmas 🎄
