3 Casual Looks With Straight Jeans

When I started this post it was going to be focused on a black drape front jacket, it soon snowballed into different outfits with straight jeans. The reason I chose to show multiple looks with straight jeans is that looser jeans are coming back in style and trending everywhere. The skinny jean is still going strong, but straight jeans with a wider and looser leg bottom is coming in strong.

These jeans I have on are from American Eagle from last year and no longer available, although I have linked a few similar ones below that are distressed and regular denim. These are called “slim straight” jeans, they are not like jeggings, they are fitted through the hips and thigh area with an easy knee and leg opening. I like these jeans because you can cuff these jeans, roll the hem, or wear them down. You will see all three ways below. A similar jean without distressing is at Old Navy is HERE, and it is a new trending item.

The first look is with the black drape front jacket. Drape jackets and cardigans are trending this fall, and I love this cute and flattering look. I paired it with a black camisole and those cute snake print booties from Target. In this look, I rolled the hem to show off the cutout booties. All items fit TTs, I am wearing a medium in the jacket and camisole. Outfit Details: // Jacket // Camisole // Jeans (similar) // Booties // Bracelet // Quilted Handbag

The second outfit is a little more casual with the best bomber jacket I have ever had…just saying! I styled it with a racerback tank in rust from Madewell (the BEST tank ever – I have 3) and the Kala Tom’s Wedges. The Bomber Knit jacket Fits TTS, I am wearing a medium, and the back and sleeves are knit material. It is super comfortable and looks great with joggers too! Outfit Details: // Bomber Jacket // Tank // Jeans (Similar) // Bracelet // Wedge Booties

The third look is being paired with the cardigan that has been in the Top 10 each week since it went on the blog in August. Since many of you girls have this cardigan, I thought I would show different ways of styling it. I switched out the drape front jacket and threw on this comfy cardigan from Target and I switched my boots with just a cuff on the jeans. Cardigan Fits TTS, I am wearing a medium for reference. Isn’t the color of this cardigan screaming autumn? Outfit Details: // Cardigan // Camisole // Jeans (similar) // Booties //

Which outfit did you like best? Have you tried the slim straight jean yet?

Hi Beverly. I love a slim jean, I think they are more comfortable than the skinny leg. I also love, love, love the color of that cardigan! I am all about the cozy cardigans for fall, Hope you have a great day😍

Deb, I feel the same way! I like a skinny jean here and there, but the looser jean is my favorite by far. It’s much more comfortable!! And like you, I am in love with the cardigan!! Have a great day ❤️❤️

I love those wedge booties but I think the heel is too high now that I have a knee injury otherwise I would be ordering those. I love your style and I love your hair. Could you show us a picture of the back of your hair? Is there alot of layers? Would love to show a picture to my hair stylist. You are gorgeous. Just started following you on instagram too.

Hey Julie!! I get asked a lot about my hair, thank you for saying that!! So sweet!! Yes, I will post some pictures on the blog for you girls. I’m actually going to start working on a video to show how I curl it to get loose waves soon. I do have long layers, not a lot because my hair is thin/fine. It gets fuller and thicker the longer I go between washings. Thank you for following and thank you again for the sweet compliments ❤️ Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning! I love your sense of style. I have a question for you, I am over 50 and short..5’2”. Can I pull off boyfriend jeans? They look so comfortable.

    • Beverly

Yes you can!! Style your jeans with a shorter jacket like a denim jacket or blazer or with a top that hits at your hips. Another look is to wear a cardigan that hits right at your knees (that will elongate you) with a top or tee.
