Colorblock Sweater & Moto Leggings
Leggings seem to be a fashion staple piece these days and I am confident in saying they are not going anywhere anytime soon. Who doesn’t love a great legging and comfy top to lounge around in? I know I do and when I am at home, I really don’t care what they look like lol! As long as I’m comfortable, that is all that matters. The black legging looks like it will never go out of style and it seems there are many different versions of black leggings making their way into the fashion industry. Moto legging is one of them! These have been squeezing into the “trend alert” file for a while and they are now trending.
This may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but many of you may love this edgy look. You are probably seeing other influencers styling these with sneakers and a great sweatshirt, to cardigans and heels. So I thought I would dive in and put my own spin on this fall trend.
Some of you that have been following for a while may remember me telling you that I played sports in school and even coached softball for the REC department in our town. I still have a little “athletic’ vibe in me and decided to style these leggings a few different ways and first up is a casual, fun more athleisure way. I added a pair of checkerboard Vans and the color block sweater I am currently crushing on. Outfit Details: // Sweater // Leggings // Vans
Let’s talk about this sweater real quick. This is a textured crew neck sweater with a drop shoulder with a straight hem and side slits. It is a great fall and winter sweater and would easily look very cute with a chambray shirt underneath and a pair of white jeans or a black and white gingham shirt like this, with jeans and booties. I decided to style the sweater in a more traditional way to show you just how pretty it is with denim, but I’m really digging the chambray and white jean outfit idea lol! *Sale Alert* The booties I am wearing below are on sale at almost 50% off! Another way to wear the moto leggings is to add a pair of booties. If you are uneasy about the moto legging, you might want to style it with a button-down shirt and a longer cardigan. Or you could opt to style them with a chambray shirt left untucked with a cute bomber jacket like this one. Another option is an oversized hoodie or sweatshirt with a pair of your favorite sneakers.
All of us girls over 40 still like to try new trends and we can still wear the trends, we just have to tweak things every now and then. At our age, a lot of us like to hide the caboose, so we wear longer tops or longer cardigans. Our waists may not be as small as it once was, so we can wear a longer tee or a tunic with a cropped jacket or one that hits at the top of our hips. We can hide the “side bulge” or muffin top by wearing a looser fit top and half-tuck. This is an option that I opt for daily!
Do you like to try new trends? Would you wear moto leggings?
