Merry Christmas!

I couldn’t let today go by without sitting down and sending out some love. Today is the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus and families and friends come together to share in love. It’s a day that has been celebrated for centuries with giving, family traditions, baking, toys, and the hint of some magic of Christmas lingering all around us.

For some of us, this may be a time that is hard if we have lost family members or our families are far away and we aren’t able to gather around the tree to share this special time. It’s ok to be not ok! It’s ok to miss our loved ones, it’s ok not to have the Christmas spirit.

Some are going through breakups, marriages crumbling, children acting out, and it can leave you with an open void inside you where no amount of tinsel and lights can fill that empty haunting space.

That’s ok! Some will look at this day as just a day off and anticipating schedules to get back to normal on the 26th. Some will hate to see today slip by after family and friends have gone back to their homes and we are left with memories that will last a lifetime. Some of you may be single moms struggling along to get through this day without your kids or overwhelmed in thinking “did I get enough gifts for my children”.

There are so many emotions that can happen to us each as an individual. We all are walking different paths in life and we all have different struggles with this holiday.

One thing that we all have in common is hope and a place in our hearts where we love. Those things can mend holes, give us a reason to keep pushing and move on. Hope gives us a reason and a determination to wake up each morning and think “this day will be different”. This year will be different, this is the year that God will reach down from heaven and move things around and create a small miracle, whether it is on Christmas day or June 6th. There is hope.

For all of you that are with your families and celebrating this wonderful time of the year, I wish you many more years of joy and love. For those of you that are having a hard time celebrating this time of year, I wish you peace and virtual hugs.

You girls have made 2019 a year of so much “awesomeness” for me. Through friendships, the love and support that you have offered have given me the best gift of all. I pray that each one of you has a wonderful day no matter what situation you find yourself in. I have felt the loneliness, the huge deep hole when missing a loved one and the love of family gathering at Christmas time.

I can’t send out a post and not recognize that everyone out there following along does not have different types of emotions today. Know that somewhere in North Carolina there is a girl who sits down and says a little prayer for each and every one of you. Especially today! Merry Christmas friends! Stay safe, eat a lot, enjoy your day and remember that 2020 is going to be YOUR year!

Have a blessed day!
