The Essential Summer Maxi Dress

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. I know some of you have some really great plans for this weekend and some of us will be lounging around the house. I will be one who is lounging, but I will be lounging with Brooklyn! We unexpectedly got the opportunity to keep her this weekend and you girls know I jumped on that faster than a cat on a mouse. (I heard Barry say that not too long ago – oh my…I’m starting to sound like him lol). He can crack out a one-liner like nobodies business!

I’m heading off to find some cute outfits for Memorial Day, I will be posting some of these on the thread for Sunday. I shopped almost all day Friday to no avail, so I’m hitting the mall!

I wanted to share this Maxi Dress I found that I have been loving! I am totally loving the maxi dresses that are out in the stores this Summer. Everyone needs a great maxi dress, whether it be for special occasions or going out to dinner. Do you love maxi dresses? I know a lot of you love to wear them in the summer because they are cooler.

I found this one when I was shopping at New York & Company, they have so many to choose from it was nearly impossible to find just one. I haven’t shopped at NY&CO since last summer and I have been missing out. This is the Navy Lemon Allison Maxi Dress – Eva Mendes Party Collection and right now they are having a huge Memorial Day sale for 50% off.

This is 100% polyester and it is lined. It wraps all the way around and ties at the waist. It has a snap closure to keep it closed, I accidentally yanked my snap off and we did not have a sewing kit, so we went with it. The V-neck closure is closer than what is shown. The length from shoulder to hem is 58 inches (I’m 5’7 for reference). See the maxi dress HERE.

I loved the print in this dress and the yellow flowers really stand out against the navy. It looked springy and summery so I decided on the Taupe Wooden Handle Tote, which I LOVE! I like a tote that is roomy because it seems I am throwing everything in my purse, or someone is handing me something to carry. Mom’s have to be ready for everything! See the tote HERE.

**It has a magnetic closure and the size is 15 x 5-1/2 x 12 inches.

For my sandals, I didn’t want a very high heel and I am loving the Steve Madden Kemmy Sandal. (You guessed it if you think we went in the Steve Madden Outlet store lol). These come in white, cognac (I am wearing this color), snake print, mustard, and black. Mustard is a pretty popular color this season – it is a bit bold for me, but I love the way it looks with white! See the Kemmy Sandals HERE. I love these not only for the comfort but the look, for some reason Steve Madden shoes look so cute on your foot. The leather band feels good and just looks cute when you’re looking down LOL!
