Fabletics – Whats The Hype and Is It Worth It?

What motivates me to workout? Well, I’m not going to lie – the real motivation for me to try and workout is the reality that I saw my reflection one day and was taken aback. So, after peering into my reflection of my car window and saw the grandma arm thing going on – I started getting motivated! So I was off to get some leggings and some decent tops – anyone know that feeling? Decide you’re going to start working out, but ya gotta go and get workout clothes. Hey – I want to look good WHILE I’m working out, if that’s at all possible??? It’s difficult for me to ‘look good’ while I am working out because I sweat. A lot. My face turns bright red and people who don’t know me ask me if I’m feel OK or if I’m going to pass out! It’s not pretty and I can admit it! I am not ashamed – I look horrible – not like some girls -they sweat like glitter on a fairy! Not me…I mean, if I’m not going to sweat then I might as well stay on the couch! So if you see me at PF and my face is red as a tomato- I’m good…just saying!

Thanks to my gene pool of unattractiveness while working out, I have to rely on my workout clothes to make me feel decent and at least feel athletic – for some reason that puts me in a “I am woman hear me roar” moment. I mean- I feel like a ninja at times, at least a little ninja that has a beet red face! hahaha Back to the the clothes part! Even though I want to look good, I don’t want to spend a lot of money, however it is important to me that I am getting quality clothes at least my leggings have to be quality! I want leggings that pull me together and keep me from sweating everywhere! I signed up for Fabletics a few years ago and love their clothes so much that I am still enrolled. The flexibility of their subscription and the quality and price of their athletic clothes is what keeps me coming back. Here’s how it works….

How Fabletics Works

Fabletics is a subscription box program for athletic clothes. Once you sign up, VIP members receive an email on the 1st of every month. In your email there is a link to ‘your picks’ of the month. These picks are usually 2-3 piece outfits with tops, bottoms, bras and workout accessories. Prices vary; starting at $49.95 per outfit. Choose the outfit(s) that you want from the outfits selected for you, or any of the additional outfits available, and they are delivered to your door.

If you don’t want to purchase anything during a month, simply elect to ‘skip’ the month and you will receive nothing, and have no charges. Members have from the 1st – 5th of each month to make this decision. You can skip as often as you like too. (I think I went 8 months without buying anything once.) What if you forget? If you don’t choose an outfit or elect to skip the month by the 5th, you are charged $49. That $49 becomes credit towards your next purchase, whenever you decide to buy.

What I Love about Fabletics

There are so many things that I love about Fabletics workout clothes. First is the quality of the clothes and lets not forget that I love me some Kate Hudson! She had me wrapped with “How to Lose a Guy In 10 Days”!! The fabric is not thin and flimsy, but strong and comfortable. They also hold up in the washer really well. I put all of my pants in the washer and dryer and they don’t fade or stretch out. This is quality clothing for workout gear. I’ve purchased a lot of different brands over the years and I must admit, Fabletics leggings are my favorite for many different reasons. 1) they hold you in 2) they are cute 3) you don’t sweat through them 4) they have a HUGE variety

Being almost 50 and a mom of 2, I love that the waist on the fabletics workout pants have a mid-rise waist. Low rise, no thanks (those days are long gone). High-waisted are a little too uncomfortable for a work out, but if I go up a size in those I feel really good when doing leg day. Fabletics are comfortable, yet still form fitting and perfect for the mom body.

They also have sizes xxs – 3xl. This enables anyone to find something that will fit them. Whether you are looking for yoga clothes, ballet inspired or high-impact work out clothing, Fabletics has something to choose from. They also have leisure clothes available, so if you are looking for joggers, shorts or a casual sweatshirt to add to your wardrobe, they have stylish options to choose from. And let me put this out there, I have purchased quite a few tops or sweaters and worn them throughout winter!

 

What I Don’t Like about Fabletics

It’s important to me that my reviews provide my readers with all the information about a product, so I have to tell you what I don’t like about Fabletics as well. The first and most important one for me, is that while their bras are cute but don’t offer enough support. When I am doing my high impact workouts, or running- I HAVE to have a highly supportive bra. I have found that many of the bras with Fabletics don’t offer the support and comfort that I need. I have seen through advertisements that they have a new line of bras, however, I have not tried them myself.

The other thing that can be frustrating that the outfits that I like go fast, or are not available in my size. It happened to me just this month! I logged into my account on the 3rd to select an outfit. For my first choice, the pants were no longer available in my size, and it was only the 3rd! I, of course, was able to find something that I love equally as much, but I was still a little frustrated. So if you are thinking of subscribing make sure you look at your email on the 1st of the month, cause the really cute stuff gets gone quick!

 

Some of My Favorite Leggings and Crop Leggings

I normally choose the long leggings (I like they way they look with my tennis shoes lol), but during the summer I am almost always in cropped leggings. Notice the detail in these leggings (I am a solid color girl, but there are all kinds of cute prints online) and the pockets for your phone, etc. I love that!! Let’s face it, when you go to the gym, you may be able to drop your keys off on a board – but you still have other stuff and I’m not one for caring a gym bag unless I am working out after work.

As I stated above, I have been a subscriber to Fabletics for a few years now. Even though I do have frustration, I don’t buy workout pants anywhere else, but Fabletics. Pure and simple, Fabletics leggings are the best I have ever tried and I’ve tried a lot! Now as far as tops go, they run kind of small and I do go up a size in the tops.
