Festive Holiday Outfit

Woohoo, it’s Friday! I have been looking forward to today all week, Brooklyn gets to stay with me and we are having a girls day! Today on the blog I am sharing the cutest red sweater that can be worn off the shoulder or on. I love the versatility and the feel of it is so luxurious. I splurged on this item and it was worth every penny.

Before we get to the outfits, I wanted to introduce you to a fellow blogger. Her name is Lisa Robertson and her blog is CoasttoCoast2 and she lives in California. I first met Lisa on Instagram and we became fast friends and after talking for a while, I learned she is from Virginia, my neighboring state! Then it hit me how she came up with her blog name…duh! Her style is similar to mine and I know you girls will love checking her out. Give her a little love and stop by her blog here and make sure you comment and tell her hey and you are from B and B Blog. I always say I have the best followers, so don’t let me down lol!

I have been looking for a festive holiday sweater that I could dress up and still wear it with jeans and boots or heels as a more casual outfit. I love this eyelash sweater by Gibson X and when I say love…I mean LOVE! It fits TTS and it is super soft and has a boat neck that can be worn in multiple ways. This also comes in cream and black, see it here. See plus size here. The red is limited, so don’t wait long! Alternatives are in the carousel below.

The off-white pants I am wearing are no longer available from White House Black Market, but they do have a similar pair here that would be great for a holiday party. My crisscross shoes are from JCPenney and come in multiple colors, see them here.

I wanted to show how versatile a red sweater can be for the holidays. So, I decided to style it with my Rag and Bone jeans that I purchased from The Real Real luxury consignment online store. These are normally around $195 in stores (and WELL worth it – but I DO NOT splurge very often) so…I purchased these with tags – for a grand total of $34.87. Shop Rag and Bone jeans from therelreal.com here.

I am wearing Sam Edelman Kinzey suede booties, see them here. I am a huge fan of Sam Edelman’s shoes and I am loving these, plus the heel is more like a kitten heel and easy to walk in! If you like a block heel bootie, these would be a great choice also.

My small coin necklace can be seen here, this is a necklace I wear daily. I love this necklace because I could choose a symbol that meant something to me – so I chose a heart that I wear close to my heart in honor of my Dad. My cut-out clutch was purchased years ago, but I did find a similar one here. I also found a gorgeous leopard clutch that would go great with this eyelash sweater in either of the colors (red, black or cream), see it here.

Isn’t this a cute sweater than can be worn more than a few times to holiday gatherings?

Are you starting to plan for holiday parties and family gatherings? It seems our December will be full of holiday get-togethers with family, friends, and work.

Beverly…you look ravishing in red. That sweater is a good choice for a Christmas gathering…to pump it up a notch for casual wear or an elegant edgy dressy look. Thank you for introducing us to Lisa….I like her style too. Have fun with Brooklyn and a good weekend. ~Lisa~

Good morning as I enjoy my coffee with you once again!!! That sweater is beautiful and beautiful on you and I agree it is one that can be dressed whichever way you need it to be. I like those shoes from JCP also. Does Brooklyn have a favorite place she likes to go for lunch? Hope it’s a nice day there since the two of you will be out and about. I have a lot of catching up to do since I’ve been under the weather this week. Have a fun day!

Thanks Sandy!! Brooklyn loves to go to a modern deli in town. They have the best food!! Plus they have lights hanging around and she gets enamored lol. Those shoes are the bomb girl!!!

You are all dolled up and ready for a fun Christmas party. I’d love an eyelash sweater, but I might sweat to death out here. Those jeans were a screamin’ good deal. I guess I should poke around on the real real. We have a Rag and Bone outlet, but I don’t even go in there. I’ve never tried there jeans and now I’m feeling I should. Thanks so much for the introduction here. I’m so happy we found each other on IG. Have a great weekend, Beverly!!! XOXO

Good morning! I love this sweater and it looks so pretty on you 🙂 I was just having a discussion with one of my co-workers and a customer the other night about the fact that I would like to wear a red shirt or sweater for the holidays but because I am a redhead I have avoided wearing reds and oranges in my clothing since I was a kid. My hair has darkened as I have aged and I was more of a strawberry blonde as a child but I am still not sure whether to try it or not. I guess I just need to go shopping and take some red items of clothing in different hues and see what happens. I am feeling much better today and found out that the problem was that I was just detoxing faster than my body could get rid of junk. I just cut back on the amount of homeopathic remedies that I am taking. So sorry to hear that you haven’t been feeling well Sandy and I hope you are better soon! Beverly I hope that you and Brooklyn have a wonderful day together 🙂
