Must Have Accessories That Every Woman Should Have

We all love a good handbag, or possibly have a shoe obsession or enough jewelry to never wear the same piece twice! But how many of us are really putting our accessories to work every day? Stylish women everywhere often have their favorite wardrobe staples that are classic and worn repeatedly. Accessories change the look of these wardrobe staples by adding color, a theme or a new way to wear the items. Accessories added to an Outfit can take it from Drab to Fab Instantly! For example, let’s say you have a busy day and evening. You can put on a favorite little dress in the morning and style it with sunglasses, a cross-body bag, and some flats to run around in. You can transition this look into the afternoon by adding a shawl, scarf or wrap. Switch to heels, maybe some sheer stockings or tights (especially in this weather) a clutch and statement jewelry for the evening and you’ve just transformed one simple dress into 3 looks! Coco Chanel, one of the biggest fashion icons of all time, once said, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory.” Coco didn’t know that stacking bracelets, charms, etc. would be all the rave in 2018, huh? Let’s look at some accessories that are must-haves in our closet now. 1) Handbags Handbags are often an accessory that expresses your personality instantly. What is your personal style? Are you a structured kind of woman, or do you like to sport a little boho style or some vintage chic? Regardless of what you like, go for it and don’t worry so much about whether or not your handbag matches your look. We all have that favorite handbag that we tote everywhere – our “go to” bag, and if you’re like me you pull out a clutch or a crossbody for special occasions. That bag that we tote around every day says a lot about us, mostly our bags are for convenience if you’re a mommy! After the kids were up and out of diapers I started paying more attention to the details. 2) Shoes Most of us look for comfort above everything. But don’t sell your outfit short in an attempt to put comfort over style. Nowadays, a beautiful pair of shoes can have it all – function, style and comfort. Brands like Ecco, Earth Origins, Vionics, Dansko, just to name a few. You can get comfort in booties, flats, tennis shoes, heels, not to mention inserts you can buy. I remember the day you had to actually “break in” a shoe before it wore good. Which meant that you would have blisters and sore feet for weeks. Oh, and if you grew up in my generation you shoes were limited. You had a pair for school, a pair to play in, a pair for church and honestly – that was about all we had. Now we have closets built to hold our shoes, so don’t tell me this isn’t a HUGE accessory! TREAT YO SELF!! LOL!!! 3) Jewelry Jewelry is an essential accessory with limitless styles and options. If your goal is to accessorize better everyday, start with organizing your jewelry by type and color in a way that makes adding a pair of earrings or a necklace to your look quick and easy. To stay on trend, you have to follow a few fashion bloggers, visit a local Boutique, or follow fashion trends on social media. There are so many trends right now you can get lost! Tassels are everywhere, from earrings to necklaces and not to mention you can use them as charms for your bracelets – it’s really open to anything your heart desires. Layering is really hot right now, stacking bracelets, layering necklaces – all that is HUGE! There are companies that target consumers with the idea of layering their necklaces and bracelets, they “pre layer” for you so you don’t have to think about it. Again, HUGE industry and a whopper of an accessory! Check out my blogs for outfits of the day – all the jewelry layered has direct links for you. 4) Scarves A good scarf (or two or three or four) is such a versatile item and who doesn’t LOVE them in the Fall! It can serve as the splash of color your outfit needs, or do double duty as a headband or even a wrap. This essential accessory should always feature great colors and some pattern, this little accessory can pull an outfit together like no other! A pop of color wrapped around your neck can brighten your face in the winter. Think about how cute it is when you wear a striking bright colored scarf with a sweater or winter coat – equals AWESOME! ****SPOILER ALERT*** Blanket scarves are going to be HUGE this Fall and Winter Season – so go stock up! 5) Sunglasses I had to add Jennifer Garner in this post – I absolutely adore her! Other than she seems to be one of the most genuine Hollywood Stars I have ever seen and literally sounds so stinking sweet, can be comfortable in “mommy” clothes, but can take it up ten notches when she has to – she’s my girl! (BTW – if you don’t follow her on FB and IG, you need to, she does great little videos on baking!) Now, getting back to the shades, Oh my GAHHH, there are thousands out there that can meet your every need. Back in my high school days, you were rocking on if you had a pair of Ray Bans -they are still going strong today! And let’s just face facts, you look so much “cooler and hip” with some great shades! 6) Hats Yes, this is the fabulous Jennifer Lopez, another one of my favorite movie stars. She does have great fashion style and looks good in anything, so I thought I would throw her in this post. Now, for all of us regular girls out here, we do wear hats more than you think. we wear a ball cap, beanie hat, fedoras and more. These are all apart of us and we use them as a fashion accessory or on a bad hair day they are WONDERFUL!!! I could continue on, but these are the main accessories that we use or infiltrate into our wardrobe the most. The point is, we all have most of these pieces, putting it together to make different outfits seems to be the problem. So remember this, and i say it ALL the time…BE YOU! BUT – go get you some of these accessories. If you’re the type that buys jewelry and keep the same few pieces and wear it year after year..Ummmm, get online and get you some! You know as well as I do, when you have an nice, cute outfit on, your self esteem can rocket! Plus, these types of accessories can be worn over and over and help give you more outfits to wear. Good afternoon on this dreary Saturday afternoon! I hope all of you ladies are having a great weekend, full of fun, joy, and warmth! We have a house with a sick teenager this weekend and boy has Lysol been sprayed! Seems like the flu and colds are coming quicker and quicker each season. Hopefully it will pass soon and things will get back to normal. Whew- it’s stressing this Mama out! I decided to pull some of my favorite items together that I thought you ladies might like that have been featured on the blog or on Pinterest this month. I made sure to keep everything reasonable and items that were really trending. Items that you could wear from work to night out if you wanted, or just a great date night outfit. (Note the Ugg boots, I love mine and wear them constantly) You girls know I don’t work in an office setting anymore and I would love to know if you would like me to feature more work wear? Weekend Casual Wear (Take 2)

Let’s try this again, those of you that got emails, let me apologize! I definetly made a boo boo and hit thet wriong button way too fast! see – I am as normal as they come and if something can happen -it will surely happen to me hahaha. So, let’s do this correctly! Now that Fall is starting to really thrive, a lot of us are going out shopping. Something about cooler weather makes us want new sweaters, booties, coats, etc. and we dive right in with all the sales that come in the Fall and Holiday Season. Most women are off to work in business attire, so when the weekends get here, they are itching to wear an outfit that isn’t so “business”. Today I opted for a very old sweater (like at least 5 years old if not more) and some jeans with some cute boots I got last winter from Steinmart. Shop The Look Here Looking to wear a longer cardigan? Wondering how to pair it with different items to get different looks? I paired my long cardigan with regular black leggings and an off-white camisole with booties. Kept my jewelry simple. Just a Boss Mom Necklace. Other ways you can wear a long cardigan – pair it with a shorter dress (around the knee length), or a skirt with tall boots or booties. that would be a cute outfit for the day. Not wanting to mess with a dress? Go with jeans or jeggings, there are so many ways to use a cardgian to your benefit. Remeber – longer items give you the illusion of being taller and slimmer! Shop This Look Here Shop All My Looks Here I’ve had a lot of girls asking for picture with direct links, not only in regular sizes, but for the curvy girls too – so I applied to join a comany that is pretty huge in the blogger world. It took 5 months before I was approved, and boy was I happy to get that email saying WELCOME! I can upload a picture of what I’m wearing and before I know it, I have all kinds of options that are either the exact item, or items that are similar. I looked for price points that wouldn’t break out piggy banks and I’m happy to be a part of this company. It’s really a huge step for me and my blog! So thank you girls for your support and I truly pray that God blesses each and everyone of you!
