Thursday Fall Finds: Old Navy, Walmart, & Banana Republic

Fall is coming in hot this year, and I mean that literally because it’s still hot here in NC, LOL! It’s starting to cool off a little and it won’t be long before we are in full blown sweaters, boots, and scarves. While I was drinking my morning coffee out on the patio yesterday, watching the squirrels work tirelessly gathering pecans, I noticed some of the leaves were starting to change colors. That little bit of Fall brought a smile to my face until Barry shook his head and said, “look further up the tree…the limb is broke and the leaves are dying”. Talk about being a Debbie Downer, LOL! That’s ok though, cause we are sharing the rest of yesterday’s fall fashion finds. I split this post up since there were so many outfits, make sure you drop a comment and let me know what you think!

First up is one of the best dresses I have found at Old Navy! You never know about the material when you purchase online, it may be thin, itchy, or wrinkle really bad; so I was very pleased when I pulled this cutie out of the package! This striped knit midi-dress has enough weight to it that it falls perfectly with a beautiful silhouette. This has a straight and simple relaxed fit that can take you from he desk to dinner with ease. I love the midi-length and the option to tie it at the bottom to give me more ways to wear it. This comes in XS-4X with tall and petite lengths available. I am 5’7″ and I am wearing a medium in regular length. This is a Best Seller with 5-star reviews! See the cute striped midi-dress here.

You can wear this dress multiple ways with just a few changes. I am wearing this today with the chambray shirt tied at the waist, a crossbody, and a ball cap while we are running errands. A perfect option for weekends or wear a long cardigan duster with it and cute booties for a dressier option.

You girls know I have a “thing” for the elbow sleeve tops, I don’t know what it is , but I think they are so classy looking! This top is from Target and is only $12 (woohoo), they are perfect for your first layering piece of fall! These come in more color options and have a lot of stretch. I sized up in this, but if you like your shirts more fitted, I would buy my regular size. See the shirt here. I styled it with the cutest brushed twill ankle pants from Old Navy. These come in tall and petite lengths and sizes Xs-4X. I am wearing a medium in regular length for reference. These are on sale for 35% off and come in black and a gorgeous raisin color. I am getting the raisin color today while they are on sale! See the twill ankle pants here.

Change up your entire look by adding a boyfriend cardigan for a trendy look. I am wearing the shaker-stitch button-front speckled cardigan from Old Navy. This is a new item, an we all know how fast the “new” stuff gets gone at Old Navy, so grab yours while you can. These look great with joggers, jeans, and chinos, or style it over a jumpsuit or a cute cami dress with sneakers for a casual weekend look. These fit TTS with a relaxed fit, and I am wearing a medium for reference. See the boyfriend cardigan here.

I found these organic cotton straight leg twill utility pants at Banana Republic Factory and so far I am enjoying wearing them. These are a great option to wear casual or a little dressier (see pics below) and look fabulous with knee high or taller boots. These come in an olive color also, they fit TTS and I am wearing a size 8 in these pants (I have lost a little weight “High Five 🙌🏼”) LOL! These straight modern utility pants are on sale for 40% off with an extra 15% off at checkout! See the utility pants here.

For a dressier or casual chic look add the shawl collar jacket from Banana Republic Factory, it’a a quick fix to level up any outfit. I personally love the jacket with the neutral outfit, what do you think?

I wear these neutral heels a lot on the blog because they are some of the most comfortable heels I have, and they work with nearly every outfit I own! These are by The Drop (a company from ShopBop) from Amazon and they have all kinds of cute shoes and clothes that are a step up from the average Amazon shops. The Drop is considered a luxe shop with affordable prices. See the heels here, check out The Drop’s shop on Amazon here. These also come in more color options.

I missed showing these camo active shorts from Walmart yesterday, so I thought I would add these in today’s post. These are commuter shorts by Avia, they are a polyester blend with a lot of stretch in them. Definitely get your regular size! Raegan accidentally ordered these off of my mom’s profile on Walmart and bought her size (large), so these will be going back for a medium. These are really cool looking in person and will look great with sweatshirts and jackets until it gets too cool for shorts. These are under $15, see them here.

Which was your favorite look today?

STOP THE PRESSES!!! That red/white striped dress from ON is AMAZING! Imagine my surprise when I clicked on the link and ON had styled it yet another way . . . almost completely unbuttoned with shorts! Which got me to thinking . . .you could even wear this completely unbuttoned as a long cardigan! So. Many. OPTIONS!! Thanks again Beverly for all of the great styling tips! I was delighted to check my email and have another one from your blog!! 🙂

Lol!! Thank you!! ( it’s been so hard with all the mess that was going on this summer) I finally put myself first. I’m kinda liking it lol

That striped dress is so cute! I really like your style and how you show different ways to wear a certain piece of clothing.

“Look further up the tree”….oh Barry! That had me cracking up!! I call my husband a Donnie Downer! lol Those horizontal stripes will not look good on this Oompa Loompa, even in a petite! Love the elbow sleeve top outfit with the boots! Okay back to the mules. I still can’t wear them as they live up to their name by kicking off my feet as I walk. Gosh! They make me look like a clumsy, babbling fool as I’m hugging the ground! bwahahaha I love the shawl collar jacket with the pants! The camo short outfit is the bomb! Good camo shorts are hard to find! haha

Ok, I missed those comments because I was in the middle of the migration. Sooo, here’s what I do! I either go up one size or but the grip socks that cover your toes and the ball of your foot. They have them at Amazon. I will look for them. That way they don’t slip off and you don’t crunch your toes. I feel your pain and found out real quick what could help. ❤️❤️ I’ve got to find those comments. I saw flashes on my iPhone Home Screen, but could not access them 😂

Ooh I love camo!! …and shorts in Michigan in the fall? Yes I can if I want to!! Love the boyfriend sweater and I’ll be needing it to actually sit and watch the piles and piles of legit leaves in my yard right now, Barry. Haha

My favorite Autumn outfit is with the shawl collar coat. It’s striking and well put together. Not a fan of the boyfriend cardigan nor the horizontal stripe dress. The camo shorts look comfy and cute paired with the cream sweatshirt.

I’m commenting late on this post!! Spent the day with Family in Galveston. Was a beautiful day out and shockingly the water was clear. Galveston water is rarely clear LOL!! I wore active shorts from Walmart today and I rarely wear them because I have gained weight and I’m really liking those camo shorts you styled. CONGRATS on losing some weight! How are you losing weight? I need some motivation and something that’s easy to follow when it comes to food. Hardest part about losing weight is wanting to see results fast LOL… Have a great evening

Hi Beverly! Can you provide the link to the cream top you’re wearing with the camo shorts please? It looks so comfy!
