Sunday Inspiration For The Heart

No matter what our pasts are, no matter how many times we fall, we can always be forgiven and given the strength to endure till the end. I look back over my life and it seems the failures outweigh the victories at times, but one thing is for sure – I did not stop, I did not give in. We fall, but we get up and although I may remember my failures, the Lord does not. Through those trials and struggles, I learned how to stand by getting on my knees. I learned that I am not perfect, nor will I ever be perfect, but the Lord looks at me as if I were perfect. I learned those struggles brought me to where I am now, without those struggles and failures, I would not have the faith that I do, and for that, I am forever grateful.

Since we are nearing Easter Sunday, I thought I would dedicate the next few Sundays to an inspirational post. Today I am sharing my devotional, it is a reminder of faithfulness from the Lord. I hope you enjoy!

Judges 16:28
Then Samson called to the Lord, saying, “O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God"

What an embarrassing scene. What a shameful spectacle.

Samson, who had been judge over Israel for twenty years, had been blessed with supernatural strength, had in one day killed a thousand Philistines with nothing but a bone in his hand – this same Samson now stands in the stadium of the Philistines, being made sport of and being himself the occasion for thanksgiving to their pagan gods.

And the worst of it all is this: he is there because of his own sin, his own foolishness. Because he wouldn’t say no to the temptress Delilah, he had been caught unawares, defenseless, and helpless. His eyes have been put out because he was too blind to see how dangerous sin is.

Why then would anyone use Samson as an example of faith? Shouldn’t he be an example of how to throw away everything that God has given you and make a royal mess of your life over and over again? Well, yes, he is that too.

But Samson is also an example of true, God-honoring, world-overcoming faith. God himself mentions his name among the select few that are included in the “hall of faith” in Hebrews 11. And why is he mentioned? Because, through faith, Samson “out of weakness was made strong” (32, 34).

Even after all his failures, all his shameful conduct, all his detestable sins Samson had faith to come to God again and pray for forgiveness and healing. Imagine the nerve! And yet God commends him for his faith. In fact, that kind of faith is mentioned as one of the most courageous and admirable to be found.

Believer, if you have made a mess of your life, follow Samson’s faith and turn to God. He will hear you, he will heal you.

Happy Sunday everyone! I recently downloaded Face To Face, by Natalie Grant and it has been the song I listen to on repeat. If you haven’t heard it, you can here. This world may not be the same world we are up in, but we have to remember that One has it all figured out and he works everything for the good of those that love Him. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Stay safe! XOXO

I’ve had many hardships and sorrows in life but God has always been there for me. I turn the radio on and He speaks to me in a song that was exactly how I was feeling at the time. That’s no coincidence! I know he loves me and everyone else too.

It’s not a coincidence that’s for sure!! That’s happened to me also. I’m a huge and I mean huge music lover! It can take you into worship very easily or let you see things you hadn’t thought of. Thank you for sharing!! ❤️❤️

Beverly…My Dad didn’t sing. He sold their 8 track tapes and later CDs and promoted several groups. He was a salesman for his full time job and did not meet a stranger so he fit right in and sold many tapes, etc. Now me….God Bless My Soul, I cannot sing. I make a joyful noise to the Lord that “he only” can translate but let me tell ya, when I get to Heaven I will be singing and a shoutin’ and I will sound good girl. We have got to meet each other one of these days❤️😘

Thanks for sharing this Beverly, what a great reminder that God sees us as perfect and that where we are weak He is our strength. One can never be reminded of this enough. I appreciate you.

Beautiful Beverly!!!! Thank you so much for this much needed devotion and reminder. I kept thinking of “When I am weak, he is strong”. My past and my journey has made me stronger. I hope Eve can get my comment because I want to tell her I am so sorry to hear about the loss of her husband. I listened to her husbands music…..amazing voice. I will keep Eve in my prayers. I grew up with Southern Gospel music. My father traveled some with several quartets. Every time I hear gospel music I think of my precious daddy who went to meet Jesus in July of 2019 so I am going to listen to more of Billy’s music.

Lisa, I had no clue your dad sang!! My cousins had a group and cut a few albums. I sang in the choir till I was about 40, I love it!! Music is my outlet and heals my soul. Yes, Eve’s husband was amazing!! My heart hurts for her, I’ve lost a husband and I know that pain. Beautiful comment Lisa!! I swear, we are so much alike! I’m a gospel girl too! I’m always singing at the house, but Brooklyn is not fond of it. Ha! She is if Barry and I break out in song and dance though lol!! Have a great week! ❤️🥰

Thank you so much for sharing that inspiration. I tell my kids that I am thankful for all the bad stuff I went through as a child growing up because of where The Lord has brought me today and that is he drew me to himself to become his child & a Godly husband of 22 yrs in July and 3 beautiful children 20, 18 & 15. Do I still have trials and tribulations? Absolutely & through them we can Trust The Lord because We can do ALL things through Christ who is our strength. Phil 413.
