Date Night & Workwear Outfit

Today I am showing a few items from Target and Old Navy, something that can be worn to work or can be worn for date night. Barry and I have gone out to eat a few times this past year, but now we have started to cook together and dress up for a dinner at home. It sounded kind of crazy at first, but it has become something we look forward to each week now. I’m sharing one of my date night (homestyle) outfits with you today and a cute pair of plaid cropped pants that I will be wearing to church. Make sure you scroll all the way down and get in on the Giveaway!

I love the cropped flare jean and it is a trend that I have been embracing for a while now, so why not dress it up a little – even in January. I have put these jeans in the back of my closet and decided to get them out for a date night with Barry. These are available in sizes 14 and up right now but they will restock, see them here. I have added similar jeans below that are all on sale. The floral blouse is from Old Navy and I love the print! I was unsure when ordering it, but once I put it on, I knew that I would definitely keep it. This fits TTS and would look beautiful with the grey or white jeans for a cute look, especially with heels and a blazer for date night.

This Collarless V-Neck Blouse is perfect to wear with a blazer or cardigan. Or maybe you are like me and like a bold statement necklace to make your outfit stand out. This blouse is on sale for $39 in white, I am wearing a blush color and it has already sold out, so I have linked a few blouses that are on sale that are similar below.

I loved these Plaid Paperbag Waist Ankle Pants from Target. I can wear these so many ways – add a long black cardigan like this one (from White House Black Market on sale 70% off for under $30) with a black turtleneck and ankle boots for a “cool-chic” look. Or style it with a grey sweater and a pair of these Franco Sarto pumps for a more elegant look. These fit TTS, if you are thicker in the waist, size up. See the plaid ankle pants here, see the v-neck blouse here. I mentioned the White House Black Market sale, you can shop their Semi-Annual Sale HERE. There are a lot of great deals that are up to 70% off.

Do you like the cropped flare jean with heels? Or are you more of a sneaker or boot girl?

4 min to midnight here. Get organized. Lose 5 lbs. exercise. The same three every year. Love the pic of you and your husband. Happy new year.

Ohhh!! I’m going to be posting that soon. I am so OCD! My son is worse than me, so I’m going to get him to help. He’s my muscle here, Barry works so much I hate to ask him. Chase is much younger and he’s the type of man that runs when a friend calls for help. Just like his grandpa! Happy New Year lovely❤️

  • Eve

Oops. That’s not you. It’s a great pic anyway. Being a kinder person sounds like a wonderful idea, Christine. Everyone’s having a tough time so kindness is something we should all work at this year.

I’m planning to lose this Covid-19 weight and get back on track to balanced eating and exercise. 🙂 Plus, of course, hug all my grandkids more now that we live in the same town. Have a blessed New Year! 🙂

Happy 2021 🥳 Beautiful Beverly!!! I really like the idea of you and Barry dressing up for your date night. Also, great pic of Reagan and Barry. I really do not make resolutions so I’ve learned over the years to make goals because I seem to do better keeping them…if that makes sense. If I make too many goals, I get overwhelmed, pressured and end up not reaching them. For years now I have done a daily devotional and numerous Bible studies which I have thoroughly enjoyed so that is something that is a must for me. This year my goals are to read some books that I have had and never took the time to read them. I need to Save, Save, Save and stop buying so much “stuff”. Enjoy your day.

Happy 2021!! May it bring in blessings of health and healing. I’ll be praying for my family and for our Nation. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
In the past years I have created a’vision’ board to reflect on my life and forecast my desire for my future. Small or large ~ goals, This is a great way to put things in perspective and get the year started in a positive way. . I haven’t done one in the past two and I think my first resolution will be to create my vision board today. It’s amazing to look back and see how prayers were answered and dreams have come true. 🙏🏼♥️♥️

My resolution is to let those i love how much I appreciate them as often as possible, and to not stress about things I can’t control. Life is good!

  • Donna Cress

I’ve got to get back into my routine of working out every morning. I always felt so much better when I did. Happy New Year to you and your family!

    • Beverly

It does make a difference doesn’t it! I will be sharing my journey on IG stories and probably the blog. I’ve got a lot of ideas floating in my head. My resolution is to put them in motion!! Happy New Year ❤️

Happy New Year, Beverly! I love reading everyone’s resolutions. Seems like we all have common ones. I am vowing to take better care of myself, EXERCISE, & enjoy whatever comes. Life gets in the way sometimes. Last weekend I was making breakfast & cupcakes for a bday party, had dishes piling up, & we had a water leak. My son & daughter in law came with water( thank goodness) & two beautiful babies. What’s not to enjoy??!!

    • Beverly

Wow! We all do have a lot in common!! I guess we have a “girls club” lol!! And I feel for you about the water leak. Uggg!! I’m so over ours and the work going on! Happy New Year!! ❤️❤️

  • Maribeth conklin

While this might sound strange…my resolution is to be very mindful of gossip and what falls out of my mouth. Thank you for your blog. Happy New Year!!!

My two main goals are to Seek Christ first in all things and to say “Love you” to my husband, the love of my life, and my kids and grandkids every time I see them or talk to them. I was blessed to have a close relationship with my moma and in the last 3 or so years every time we talked we would end by saying “I love you”. She passed away last week, on the 23rd unexpectedly after a fall. Even at her age of 92, I wasn’t ready to say good-bye. I could have had her longer and it still wouldn’t have been long enough. I am so grateful that we said those words to each other because now I can pull those words to mind being spoken in her voice when I think of her. It’s time we all love more and express it often.:)

I’m relatively new to your blog and I love it! Sharing your faith, family life and fashion (including hair and makeup tips ) is a post I look forward to every day. Great job and thanks for sharing your talents with us!

I am doing a gratitude journal. My only real resolution is to move more. I had started in December every morning with a morning stretch routine then got Covid. Finally feeling better and started today January 2021 with my morning stretches and a fresh journal. Have a blessed 2021! I enjoy all your Blogs and posts!

  • Margaret Martin

My main goal for 2021 is to begin each morning with God…prayer and devotional. I want to honor God at the start of my day and this will set the tone.

    • Beverly

I love this!! In this day and time, we all need that!! Thank you for sharing!! Very inspirational to hear all of you ladies putting God first ❤️

  • Jami

My main goals are to get back into the Word and less into the problems of the world, write more and get my book written, and get healthy again. Best to you and yours in the new year, Beverly!

  • Penny Jo

Your style is so cute and affordable. My goal this year is to get back to healthy eating. I let 2020 get under my skin in more ways than one – haha.

  • Jennifer

Just be kinder to myself. Stop being negative about my body and mind. We can be kind to other people but not ourselves. Stop thinking I am not enough.

    • Beverly

That’s a great one!! It’s weird how we are more critical on ourselves than others are. You are enough and more!! Blessings to you and your family!! ❤️❤️❤️

  • Melanie S

Happy New Year Beverly! Coffee ☕️ in hand. I love the wide leg crop jeans with heels that’s more my style. I love the idea of dressing up at home and having dinner. Never thought of doing that. I didn’t make any resolutions because I always fail to stick with it. I’m going to go with the flow and whatever The Lord leads me to do in my life this year I will do. Have a wonderful New Years Day♥️☺️

    • Beverly

Oh Melanie!! I love your coffee ☕️ references! I think you and I could meet for coffee every now and then if we lived near each other. We certainly love it lol And I LOVE what you wrote!! ❤️❤️❤️

  • Angie Suggs

I love a beautifully made bed but since covid hit I stopped making my bed. My form of rebellion. Lol. But, I hate it being messy, so I resolve to make it every morning. Lol, silly but a resolution I can keep. :0)

    • Beverly

Lol!! I have no choice but to make my bed. I have had to take my pictures from home since Covid. Barry is my photographer and has worked some crazy hours! His goal is to get back pulling his part of the B in B and B Blog lol❤️❤️❤️

  • Hope

For 2021 I am going to work more on me. From eating healthier, exercising, believing in myself more and stop listening to negative comments. 2021 = I can do what I put my mind to!!

  • Cara MacNinch

Happy New Year Beverly! With this new year I plan to be healthier, kinder, and more agreeable. I also plan to let go of past regret and guilt in order to live in the present and look forward to the future.

  • Stacy

Thank you for your awesome blog, Beverly! One of my goals this year is to grow in my self-confidence. Not always sure how to measure that, but more scripture and strategic personal development are on the list to add to that foundation! Enjoy your new year!!
