3 Looks Styling Flared & Frayed Cropped Jeans

Frayed hem cropped flared jeans are certainly becoming a trend this Spring, and I am not one to shy away from a trend. So…I decided to try this style and style it in a way I could wear it out to eat (that will happen again) or out for lunch with my girlfriends on the weekend. I did a little research and according to Who, What, Wear…there are around 7 “do’s” for styling these super comfortable jeans and I am sharing them today.

Do’s For Styling Cropped Flared Jeans

  • The perfect length is right above the ankle.
  • A frayed hem is the most polished form of distressing.
  • When in doubt, wear block-heeled shoes with cropped flare jeans.
  • Tuck your shirt in to show off a figure-flattering high-waist style, half-tuck if you want to hide certain areas.
  • A wide flare looks best with heels.
  • Cropped flare jeans, a statement top, and mules are an easy combination.
  • For the most flattering look, go with black cropped flares.

My Twist On This Style

I took the tips above and shopped my closet for a casual but dressy look. I decided on a strappy heel, my comfiest cardi, and a cami from Banana Republic Factory that I am loving! The cardigan fits loose and comfy and I wear it often in the house when it is chilly…it’s definitely my go-to cardigan. See the cardigan here. The Classic V-neck camisole is from Banana Republic Factory and Fits TTS. I am wearing a medium and it is a great color to style with denim and white. This one comes in 6 different options and is on sale up to 60% off. See it here.

The cropped frayed jeans have plenty of stretch in them, they are high-waisted and are on sale for 40% off. The save more by buying more sale is going on now! These jeans are very limited in sizes, so I have linked some similar styles below. The teal shell I have on is a must-have ladies! This hits below the waist and has a shirred V-back, this swingy shell is a fresh twist on an everyday essential. This comes in 3 spring color options and Fits TTS. I am wearing a medium for reference. See the shell here. The half sleeve cardigan is from Walmart girls! It’s a perfect addition to your wardrobe for this time of year and comes in multiple colors. I sized down in this to a Small. See it here (it’s only $12.99!!!)

If you’re feeling a little BOHO, grab a graphic tee and a cute kimono for a laid back and edgy look. Add a pair of sandals for a more casual look! Throw your hair in a messy bun and you are set for a day around the house without trying too hard. We are all having those kind of days here lately.

Today is a chilly day, so we are tying inside…Brrr! I am debating on coloring my roots and filming to show you girls how I do it. I’m not sure I can be very elegant or graceful coloring my own hair, so that is up in the air right now. Let me know your thoughts! It might give you a good laugh haha! What are you girls up to this weekend? Anyone going virtual egg hunting?

Oh goodness Beverly I like all 3 outfits. The kimono is gorgeous. I really like the half sleeve cardigan too. You could fly a kite in that wind today and yesterday too. As you may know, we have a blended family and all of our children are grown and on their own. However, my daughter is home from college so there is just me, my husband and my daughter in the house following this stay in place order. We will watch our church service online which will be the first Easter for this. Thank God for technology to do this. Also, they do not know it but I am going to have an Easter egg hunt for them inside our house (since it will rain tomorrow)…yes you just read that 🤣. I am putting little notes in part of them. For example: Redeem for a shoulder/back massage or Redeem for a foot massage….you got the picture. Now, I can’t put any personal messages in the eggs for my husband to find because I can’t guarantee that he would find those…LOL!!! So, of course I have to remain neutral. I am putting candy in some. Then I am putting encouraging scriptures in the remainder. Especially during this difficult time we need all the encouragement we can get. Happy Easter ✝️🙏. ~Lisa~

Lisa, that is the best idea I’ve seen so far!! Oh my gosh!! You rock in creativity ❤️❤️ We will be watching online also and I am so glad we can do that!! This is new for us, although I’ve watched online before from home. It’s not the same as being there, but it’s way better than nothing. I hope your Easter is a wonderful one! Oh, and thanks for the comment 😘 and YAASSSS!! It was windy today! lol
