How To Style a White Button-Down Shirt

Lately, I have been seeing a huge Spring trend that is also a classic…the white button-down shirt! There are so many ways to style this simple classic and today I am styling it chic-casual. The classic white button-down is versatile — just as suitable for the office as for casual weekends or going out in the evening. That’s why it’s also a true street style favorite. Continue reading to check out my twist on this oh-so-chic classic!

I have a lot of ideas rolling around in my head on how to style this and will share all the looks with you on another post, but today I want to show a cute date night or a weekend outfit that is perfect for any girl at any age and any body shape.

I decided on a linen-blend blazer to give it a dressier look. I got this blazer Burke’s Outlet, but I found one almost exactly like it! Right now Old Navy has the linen-blend blazer on sale at 30% off! This comes in two more color options, has a relaxed fit through the body, and hits at the hips. See it here.

The fitted boyfriend button-down oxford shirt is 50% off right now. You will be wanting to add this to your wardrobe, and you will be glad you did when I show you just how many ways you can wear it! This shirt has a straight silhouette and hits at the hips. Perfect for all year round! I’m wearing a medium in this and it fits TTS. This comes in a few more color options as well. See this classic here.

I added high-rise button fly jeans with a ragged hem because – I just like these jeans! Ragged hems are trendy and popular, the denim is another classic, add a pair of hot pink pumps took this outfit WAY up…in my humble opinion lol! The jeans fit TTS, I have had them for about a year and still wearing great. I have added more options in the carousel below, see the jeans here.

To stay in the neutral family, I found this great snake print backpack that gives me a little print. The backpack has several pockets (see my sunnies in one of the pockets?) and keeps my theme casual, or casual/chic! See the backpack here, it comes in more color options also.

Now let’s talk about these shoes! Oh my gah!!!! I love these hot pink Marc Fisher pumps – like I’m obsessing over them. These are so cute with denim, black jeans, longer shorts, and dresses – the options to style these are endless. I got these from QVC, I am wearing my normal size, they come in more color options and you can check them out here. I added more shoe options of this fun and trendy color below!

I am working today and then heading home to abide by the “stay at home” rule. This virus has really taken a toll on our country and I for one am ready to do anything we can to stop it an get our lives back. It is amazing how an invisible virus can halt the world in a matter of weeks. Take a booming economy and hit it so hard it brings nearly all nations to their knees. Everyone…please stay inside, use sanitizer, wash your hands and stay safe my sweet friends! Thank you for stopping by and stay safe!

Have a blessed day!

Oh Beverly….it is good to see you back in my inbox. I smiled really big when I saw your beautiful smile while opening up my email. I have missed you and so thankful you, Barry and your family are okay. My husband and I have a blended family. They are all grown and we are empty nesting. All of our family is safe and sound…Thank you Lord. My husband is retired and I am still working. As you know I am in NC too so my last day on my job was Friday. My daughter came home from college a couple weeks ago for spring break and now is doing her classes online and home until mid-August. She did drive back and get all of her stuff cleaned out of her dorm. My two sons have essential jobs they have to go to work for so I keep praying a hedge of protection around them. I am praying for a hedge of protection around our country, our President, all the ones affected by this horrific virus, doctors, nurses, EMT, policeman, fireman, grocery store workers, gas station employees, all the ones on the front lines, etc. and will continue. Now, on with fashion….great look Beverly!!! I know you are ready for a normal date night. (Me too 😉) A few weeks ago I purchased the Time and Tru brand of the white button down shirt. I am looking forward to all the ways “you” will style this classic shirt. I need some options when I return to work. Stay Healthy and Safe. ~Lisa~

I am working from home during this time and as we live way out in the country I usually put on athletic wear. However, after our online church service yesterday I had to go into town to pick up some prescriptions. I was SO excited to put on real clothes. I enjoy working from home but I miss picking out my weekly work outfits. Prayers for all the health care workers. May God keep you safe.

    Hi Beverly!

Happy Monday and it’s so good to see your post today! I’ve missed reading your blog this past week and even looked in my Trash and Spam folders over the weekend to see if I had accidentally missed them. Whether you know it or not, the “new norm” is seeing your posts in order to get our minds off of the daily COVID-19 news we’re bombarded with what seems like 24/7. It helps to see “good news” posts, even if it’s a quick 5 minutes, and I’m so grateful you decided to post today.

Thank you for your contributions and always looking forward to them…when you can. Have a great week and thanks for your contributions in the Health field!

Best wishes from Louisiana…stay healthy, wealthy and wise!
    Debora
