2 Ways To Style A Boyfriend Blazer

Happy Saturday girls! We have made it through the “blizzard” of 2020 in NC, in other words – we got a few inches of snow and everything shut down, and everyone made it through just fine. The prediction was about 4 inches of snow, so we were very excited when we went to bed Thursday night awaiting to wake up to a winter wonderland. Imagine my disappointment when I raised the garage door and saw cement leading up to the vehicles.

I thought, my gosh…how far does our house hang over the driveway? Then my eyes scan across the front yard and into the neighborhood to see bits of snow here and there. No snow to play in, but at least we got to see it falling for a while. It’s a big thing here in NC to see snow since we don’t get it very often. Especially if you get a snow day off from work!

The Outfits

A big trend right now is longer blazers and I have not found any that I have really been loving until this past week. I found this cute stone linen-like blazer that I have added to my “basics” wardrobe. This can be worn with jeans, shorts, skirts, and dresses. I styled this two ways today to show weekend and casual options.

I found this one at Burke’s Outlet for only $16.99, it fits TTS and I am wearing a medium for reference. These are online, but sizes are limited, see it here. I have found a few alternatives and linked them above in a carousel.

I chose to wear these with some booties that I’m crushing on right now. These cut-out booties wear great and look adorable with jeans. The buckle and cut-out detail is what makes these booties stand out. These are from Sole Society, called the Larayn Boot. Another option for a casual weekend look that I really like is this option below. I styled the blazer with my Mid-Rise Rockstar Skinny Jeans in White. I love wearing white jeans and I wear them throughout the year, these aren’t just for Spring and Summer! These fit snug, so you may want to size up if you don’t want them skin tight. I do not like mine really tight because white skinny jeans tend to show every dimple we have, so I opted to get a size 10 in these and they fit just fine. See them here. I’m loving the length of the blazer! A long linear look that is flattering for every body shape.

I chose the Sam Edleman Kinzey Bootie in leopard print to make my outfit pop! These are a lighter color of leopard, most leopard boots I have seen are more rust or brown in color, these are super cute with jeans and looks great with skirts and dresses also. See them here.

Have you tried the boyfriend blazer yet? I remember when these were popular in the ’80s and ’90s especially with the shoulder pads. Anyone remember that? If not, watch an episode of the Golden Girls and you will see all kinds of trends that were popular back in the day.
