3 Looks With a Black Turtleneck + Riding Boots

Happy Friday! It’s the weekend and time to relax. Raegan and I are both headed to get new eyeglasses today so this is going to be kind of short. Be sure to read all the way down to see why we are going to get glasses!

Today on the blog I wanted to style a classic piece, a black turtleneck sweater. Showing different ways that I have been wearing it. We all have those classics that never go out of style and a black turtleneck is a Winter staple. Here’s how I styled mine with a pair of khaki pants and black knee-high riding boots. The pants can easily be swapped for denim or even white jeans or slacks for work. Add some heels or booties and you still have a great timeless look.

My turtleneck sweater is from Walmart by Time and Tru, it is under $12 here and several colors to choose from. I love to wear black and khaki together any time of the year, but I especially like pairing it with black knee-high boots. This would work well with beige or cognac boots as well. I first paired it with a black faux leather jacket, see it here, that has been a top favorite on the blog. The leather gives it a touch of chicness – is that even a word? LOL!

For a more casual look add a denim jacket to even an olive Moto Jacket for an outfit for every day and running errands. I added a pop of white in with a Sophia Convertible Backpack. I like this backpack since I can carry it like a satchel, wear it as a backpack, or snap the straps together and wear it on the shoulder or as a crossbody. Very functional for the busy mom! See it here. It also comes in black and a festive red! My denim jacket is by Lee Riders from Amazon here.

My pants are actually ankle pants that I got back in the Summer. Don’t forget that you can still wear these during the colder months, just wear tall boots! These are on sale for $14.94 at Steinmart right now. See them here. I added my olive lightweight vest from Old Navy and it is on sale right now also! Grab this up while ON is having their sale, see it here.

My black riding boots are at least 10 years old, but I found a few that are similar linked below. I really liked these Michael Kors boots on sale for $113, they were $225. I love the MK line!

I’m not sure if I told you girls the story behind the glasses or not – so if I did, here it goes again lol. As most of you know, Raegan has not been interested in driving at all, she’s 19 and cares less about having her DL. Out of the blue she said she wanted to get her permit and start practicing. I was ecstatic! Everything was going well, till the eye test. Bless her heart, she can’t hardly see out of her right eye and has NEVER once said anything over the years. I was in shock to say the least. How does this slide by a Mom??

So we both are having our eyes checked today and she is getting glasses or contacts. I mean…she can’t drive without getting them, that’s how bad her eyesight is. I’m still befuddled how this slipped by me…wait…how did it slip be HER???

I’m ready for the weekend too. I’ve been dealing with this head cold ALL week and i’m still not over it but it sounds like there is a lot of it going around…the coughing is the worst. Yep…I have a black turtleneck in my closet for sure!!! Since I don’t wear my white pants in the summer(seems like that’s not a think in small towns)I usually wear mine with tweed or black pants or jeans or a skirt so still plenty of options. I can’t believe that Reagan hasn’t been squinting. Good luck in picking out frames. That is always a hard job for me. I’m off to have lunch with friends today. Going to feel good to get out of the house!

I hope you get better soon!! We are dealing with a few colds too. Uggg!!! You’re right! I can’t believe she hasn’t squinted or complained. Have a great day today!! Feel better soon!!❤️❤️

Like I said, I love turtlenecks so I have one in black, brown, grey, pink and white 🙂 I too can’t believe that neither she nor you realized that she had vision problems, wow! I have worn glasses since 6th grade and it would feel strange without them. I have tried contacts in the past a few different times but I always felt as though my eye sight was either blurry with them or made my eyes feel so tired very quickly. Like Sandy, I think picking out the frames is the hardest part especially if you are by yourself. At least you can help each other pick out something that looks good on you. I am starting to feel a bit better but I am being very careful no to overdo which is hard when I am usually constantly doing something. I gave my notice at work and we have postponed our trip to Florida for Christmas instead of Thanksgiving. Back to work for me on Tuesday for the last 2 weeks. Praying for you, Sandy and any of your family that are feeling bad. Have a great day!!

We were picking out frames forever!!! She found some that she likes-I didn’t care for them, but she liked them so I went along with it lol. Her eyesight in her right eye is 20/200. I am still wondering where we missed all this. Bless her little heart ❤️. I got me some new glasses and I’m “supposed” to wear them all the time. We shall see ha!! I’m used to wearing readers, so this will be a new thing for me to get used too. I’m so happy for you that you’re going to be staying home now. It takes a little getting used to, but it’s sooo worth it for so many reasons. I will stay home until I’m totally bored- I’m not quite there yet lol. Happy Weekend lovely!

I wore the same outfit white pants, boots, black turtleneck and a gold vest from Old Navy today! I wore my red Mudd pie earrings and I always get compliments on them when I do! I love turtlenecks and will put those on my wish list. I should get the animal print earrings and belt today. That dang Tania got me into buying a camisole she had on the other day, too. Lol

Lol!! I saw that camisole and loved it. I just got in a huge order of clothes so new stuff is coming on the blog. Woohoo!!!! And those Mudpie earrings are some of my favorites. I wish I had gotten a bold color because the black ones I have really don’t show up with my dark hair unless it’s up. Sighhh lol
