What’s All the Hype About A Jade Roller?

Happy Friday!!!! Woo  Hoo..the weekend is here and I have a big date lined up with Mr. Hoyle. When I say big date…I’m talking about going out to eat a restaurant that is NOT a drive-thru HA HA!!! I have a new pair of sandals I’m wanting to try out so I can give you girls my honest opinion on it next week. Oh…and Brooklyn will be staying the weekend, who knows — she’s probably going to be going with us. It’s always fun taking her, she is at the age she says the funniest things now.

I wanted to talk to you girls about the Jade Roller – this is something that is really popular and I wanted to make sure you are in the know! Check it out…

What is a Jade Roller?

The Jade Stone Roller is a facial massage tool that is a wonderful experience for your senses. It is known for its healing properties that relax the nervous system and aid in removing toxins.

Why Jade?

The natural rejuvenating properties of the jade stone is that of invigorating and circulating the blood and body’s natural energy. This beauty accessory was used by Empresses and ancient royal families in China for years in their quest for smooth, youthful facial skin tone.

Benefits.

It’s a technique that has been used for centuries in Chinese Medicine for facial rejuvenation for its ability to minimize the appearance of fine lines, reduce inflammation and puffiness around the eyes, in addition to improving lymphatic drainage (does it make anyone else think of Dry Brushing? – find out about that here) and restoring facial skin tone. It’s a natural cooling stone that not only brings a wonderful glow to the skin but also aids in easing sinus pain and headaches by circulating Qi, which serves as one’s vital energy and life force.

How to Use it.

  1. Start out by cleansing your face with your favorite cleanser and pat dry
  2. Apply a face oil or serum to your face.
  3. I start on the right side of my face near the jaw line
  4. Roll the face with large side of the roller in an upward and back direction 3 times in each section.
  5. Massage your way through your whole face.
  6. Turn it over to the small side for delicate areas like around your eye, nose and upper lip.
  7. You are done

*if you are jade rolling for lymphatic drainage benefits, start at the nose and work your way out.

Another tip to help with de-puffing is to keep your jade roller in the refrigerator until you use it. Because Jade is a natural stone it stays cold all the time, but placing it in your frig will make it even more cold and get the puffiness to go down even faster. I don’t typically do this, because I like to keep all my skincare in the same room, but for special occasions or events, this is very easy and quick to do.

Where to Buy.

I have two Jade Rollers, the first one I bought came from Sephora and the second one came in my FabFitFun Box. You can find several different brands at Sephora and tons of options on Amazon, make sure you read all the info and reviews on Amazon, you don’t want to end up with fake Jade.

These range in price from $9.99 to $38. The top Seller is this one at Amazon:

Dull, Puffy Skin Be Gone

There’s nothing worse than waking up after a night of eating and drinking against your better judgment to find a swollen face staring back at you in the mirror. Rather than getting through the day with fatigue on your face, pick up our Jade Roller and start vanishing evidence of last night with each stroke, restoring balance and energy to your skin.

The Benefits Aren’t Few

  • Stimulate collagen production
  • Plump fine lines and reduce cell turnover time
  • Help close and minimize enlarged pores
  • Tighten and firm the skin by boosting elastin
  • Minimize spots around chin and jawline caused by toxin build up
  • helps firm facial muscles for improved elasticity and more…

Eyes

Use the small roller to tone the lids and under-eye area. Move from the inner corner of the eye area to the ear.

Forehead

Move from the center of the forehead beginning at the hairline, rolling towards the ear, down to the temple. Repeat 4-7 times. Focus attention on fine lines and eyebrow furrow.

Nose, Lips, Chin

Use larger roller to work from the nose out to the ear. Continue with the upper lip, lower lip, and the chin. Roll along the lower jawline of the chin, making your way to the ear lobe. Repeat on the other side.

Jawline and Neck

Start at chin and swipe upward toward cheekbones. Make sweeping motions up under the chin towards ears, then down the neck toward the collar bones.

Final Thoughts.

Do you have to have a Jade Roller? No. Are they trendy? Of course. They are a nice little extra tool to use. I enjoy the experience of using my jade roller, if I didn’t see one single benefit I would still enjoy using it. It is so relaxing to do right before bed, it’s cooling and it really is like a mini massage for your face. It also helps the product really sink into your skin. Typically, I notice the next morning after using my jade roller the night before that my face looks good, fresh, glowy and young looking. I notice it the most around my eyes, the skin is very smooth with no signs of aging. I would say if you have the extra money then totally get one, but it’s not a totally must-have item. But – anything to help me look fresh and not so tired…I’m all for it!!

Good Friday morning!! You must be a mind reader! I have just recently been thinking about getting a jade roller and wondered if it would be worth it. I should have known that I could ask you all about them but didn’t, duh! I am pretty sure that I saw some at my place of work and if so I have a $5 extra buck burning a hole in my pocket that I could use toward it 🙂 I will be having an exciting day of house cleaning and waiting for the repairman to come and check out our dishwasher. I work 3-10 this weekend so not sure what I will be doing for excitement around here in the earlier part of the weekend days. I hope that you have a great time out to dinner with your hubby and Brooklyn!

My coupons burn holes on my pocket too lol!!! Great minds think alike Kelly!!! Hope your work goes by fast this weekend and maybe today will be more awesome lol Happy Weekend!!

Well this was a new one on me as I have never heard of a Jade roller….just like I hadn’t heard of dry brushing. It sounds very relaxing and even more so if I could lay there and have someone else roll it around on my face!!!! I’m not sure how consistent I would be with using it because my dry brush is right in front of me before getting in the shower and so many times I don’t take those couple extra minutes to use it because I don’t want to take the extra time. I know without consistent use a person probably does not reap the benefits so guess I better get in the habit of using the dry brush before I invest in a Jade roller. I can hear your excitement about your date night and even having little Brooklyn along. Somehow these little ones always make outings fun. ENJOY!! Hmmm…maybe I can see about a date night tonight but….if my hubby can get in the field, it may be a tractor ride with him. He is itching to get to the field so we can get our crop in.

Girl-I used to ride with my dad on the tractor-oh I miss those times. I’d get so excited!! I love taking Brooklyn along-she does brighten up my world lol Happy Weekend!! And work that dry brush! The benefits are awesome!!! Lol

It’s funny you’re talking about this today because I just got one. It is smaller than this and for use under my eyes. I put on my eye cream with a soft brush that is on one end and then use the jade roller end to rub gently around my eyes as well. It feels great and if it’s cold it’s a double dose of doing something good for the puffiness under my eyes. I wasn’t sure at first if it was a gimmick or really helped but after a couple weeks or more of using it I do believe it helps. I need to try one for my whole face now. Good post!

Hey!! That’s great!! You know I have issues with puffiness. Mine are always swollen in the Spring because of my allergies Uggg!!! Thus has helped. That coolness is awesome!!! Thanks for the thumbs up on the post!! It’s so funny when I put out a post and you girls either just got it or are looking at getting it!! ❤️❤️

I meant to say also that I want to try the dry brush technique you posted about previously. Does it really help your skin and body like they say? I’m guessing I can get a set of brushes on Amazon, right?

    • Beverly

Girl YES!!!! It helps get the blood pumping through your body, helps boost your immune system and most importantly-gets the dead skin off. As we get older we have to exfoliate so much more than when we were young. It helps ( in time) giving a more youthful appearance. I’m all for that. I first learned about it from Candace Cameron Bure!! I love her!! Lol
