Coffee & Girl Talk

Good Sunday morning ladies! I cannot believe how fast this weekend went by. We did not have Brooklyn this weekend and I thought it would be a relaxing (non-movement) kind of weekend. I was so wrong! Barry kept me on the move – from eating out to shopping and organizing…Whew, I need a weekend from this weekend! Have you girls ever felt like that? We work hard all week and then we really work on the weekends sometimes. When the kids were little it was the vacations that got me – and I know you girls know what that feels like!

I wanted to talk about faith today, I have to tell you girls things that are going on with me and how the Lord has moved in and shown himself. I stepped out 8 months and decided to make my little blog a professional website. I saw it grow very slow and I mean very slow. I decided to put my faith in God, I knew down deep in my heart this was his will. My goal was to eventually make money and have a decent income, but I knew I wanted to be home for my family as much as possible. And I firmly believe that is God’s will for me.

Hebrews 13:5 “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.'”

In October the blog started really picking up and it grew by thousands of views each month after. In December, I decided to ask God to help me hit my goals I set each month. My first goal was in December and I hit my views per month. I was elated and jumping for joy – December is a slow month for bloggers. So when January came around and I was in prayer, I told God, “How about I set a goal for 45k this month.” We hit it! Every day I saw it grow and I would look at the analytics and just be flabbergasted. I know you only have to have the faith the size of a mustard seed. I surely had that!

February came around and even though it was a shorter month, I decided to talk to the Lord and set a 50K Viewers a month. You girls can imagine how I sat in awe every day watching my numbers rise daily with views. Not only was my blog growing, but my Pinterest was growing also. I do believe God goes above and beyond any goals we set or ask for. As my viewers grew, my faith became even more strong. How could it not??

The first of March rolled around and I decided to ask God to let’s set this months goal for 60K views. This is a very high goal and it takes a lot of bloggers a right good while to achieve this. I do believe God moves in mysterious ways and had Tania from 50 Is Not Old to be a HUGE help in mentoring me. Tania has been an essential player in teaching me, offering advice and honestly, being a “sister” to help me build the blog and Rodan+Fields. I am thankful for that lady – she is one awesome person and I hope and pray God continues to bless her in all her endeavors. She deserves it a much as she gives back to people.

Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

As of Friday morning, I hit the 60K views and of course, God goes above and beyond and I will hit somewhere between 65 and 70K this month. How awesome is our GOD! I literally would look at the analytics with my mouth dropped wide open. I like to talk with the Lord like he is my Father and if you have been following the blog, you know I’m silly and very down to earth. So, Friday I was talking/praying and told God – you never leave me, you want what’s best for me and you have built my faith up even more so than it ever was. And let me tell ya- I’ve got faith when it comes to prayers! I feel like God winked at me…I know He guides me and for that I am forever humbled.

James 1:6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

If God did such a wonderful thing in my life, He can and will do it in your life! Do not ever underestimate the power of Faith! He is no respecter of persons, no matter who you are or where you come from – he loves us all and wants and leads us to open doors. Listen to that small still voice and go with it! If you have a dream, pursue it – put God first and all these other things will come. I wanted to give a praise report and put a blog post out totally on faith! (This is a small post on that) My God Can and my God WILL! I’m just a little country girl that decided to put God first in my life and boy has he carried me through life. For all He has done from me, from the Cross to this little blog, I praise Him and Thank HIM! What an awesome God we serve!

I read this quote or prayer and wanted to share it with you: Dear Lord, help me – every single morning – to find faith in the midst of the chaos. Give me the desire and ability to see You, hear You, talk to You, and give thanks to You. And as I do, I pray that I will draw nearer and nearer to You, and that my faith will multiply exponentially as I understand in new, deeper ways that You are everything I ever hoped You would be. And so much more. Amen. ~ Kelly O’Dell Stanley

Thank you ladies for taking time on Sunday to read the blog. I felt very led to share the amazing things God is doing in my life with all of you. I believe in the power of testimony and I believe God deserves the praise. He pushed me on a path I had no clue how to start. He gave me the will and desire to research in learning and getting this blog up as a professional blog. There is a lot I need to learn, but I know God will be right there with me! Prayers and hugs to all you ladies! Special shout out to Johnna, she is having issues making comments and I really miss her! You girls and your comments have given me so much!! I hope I am able to give back as much as you are giving!! XOXO

I enjoyed the blog today so much. Thanks for all the inspiration of faith and how it worked for you. We all should have faith but it is hard at times but that is what faith is. Trust and believe in God. Thanks

I love the quote/prayer from Kelly O’Dell Stanley. I am so happy for you and the progress that you have been making on your blog. Isn’t it amazing what the Lord can and will do if we would just bring our thoughts and prayers to Him and let Him bless us as I know He desires to do 🙂 I enjoy reading it every day and feeling the relationships grow as we comment and interact with each other. I too am missing Johnna and hoping that she gets things sorted out soon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Coffee and morning devotion with you! Your first paragraph made me think how we need a vacation “from” our vacation…LOL and our weekends will get hectic once we can get in the fields to prepare for spring planting but goodness, it’s only 18 deg. here this morning so the ground has a long way to go to warm up. Beverly I love how you kept praying to God for guidance and kept pursuing your dreams. I don’t understand all the ins and outs of blogging, but I do know that if some people are like me, it takes awhile to come upon a blog and I doubt I would have found you if I hadn’t been sent over to meet you from Tania so I can see why you have to be patient and give your blog time to grow and it sounds like people are now finding you and it will only keep increasing from here. I continue to follow not only because I love your style and anything else you chat about, but it’s like we are having a chat together because you take the time to “chat” back to us with a response even if we don’t ask a question. That takes time on your part but I know all of us appreciate your interaction with us. Your Faith is strong and I can see that in your daily posts, not just your Sunday post. You must be keeping very busy with this as sometimes you mention the emails that you get so you must get responses via that method and not just here where I have coffee with you in the mornings. 🙂 The saying…Keep the Faith…hasn’t let you down so prayers for you that you continue to build your business at the same time you are keeping it real with all of us. And…to your response to me yesterday…I would love if you would go with Barry’s idea to show us your cute kitchen items and give us some ideas how we can maybe replace some of our “old” bowls and such with some new and updated ones!! Have a great Sunday!

Sandy!! I am growing to love all of you so much!! It’s like long distant sisters lol. Thank you so much for your prayers and comments! You girls commenting and saying hey and telling me about your day has really made me appreciate all you girls! God knew what I needed and he knew I needed you girls!! Everyone’s comments mean so much to me. I told my husband I would always respond no matter what because I want to treat people the way I want to be treated. The Lord is faithful and good and boy did he bless me with Tania and all of you! I teared up with your comment too!! I’m so tender hearted, I’m very humbled and I know I’m doing exactly what God would have me do. Before I finish this comment I have one more thing to say —18 degrees??? Holy mackerel!!!! 🤗😘

Beverly, Thank you so much for sharing your awesome testimony! It was just what I needed to hear. God always knows! I’ve had faith for many things in my life, but I’ve really struggled with faith in the area of my career/job. I know it’s time for something new, but I don’t have the vision or faith for it at the moment. After reading your testimony, I know I need to put all my faith and trust in God and believe that He will make a way where I just can’t see any! Thank you! ❤️ I pray that God continues to bless you and your blog and that He uses you to bring glory and honor Him! (I think that was a run on sentence 😂)

I agree Julie, it’s very hard to trust and have faith when it comes to earning money. I do believe that God will open doors where you never thought possible. When I left the corporate world in 2014 it took me 6 months of agonizing pain to finally put my notice in. But it was the best thing I could have done. I felt like I should do something from home but I wouldn’t listen nor wait. So I went back to corporate America and it was the worst decision I made. Then I finally sat still and the ideas started flooding in about blogging. And once I started trying to figure out how it works ( I literally spent 4 months with my head in a computer) I’ve trusted in God ever since. The first 4 months was HARD!! I think I had a run on sentence too ha!!! Thank you so much for your comment!! It lets me know I’m in the right track!! Praise the Lord 🙌🏻 Have a great Sunday!!

I have just gotten around to reading this post and I have enjoyed it so much! As much as I love your fashion, I love more hearing about our Savior. He is worthy. Thank you for your honesty and for sharing your heart. It’s not easy, sometimes, in this world we live in to share a testimony for Jesus.

    • Beverly

Thank you Phyllis!! You’re absolutely right, it’s not easy and being bold in your faith is hard in the world we live in. But I know I have to share it, who knows…maybe God will use me on some small way. Thank you for the comment!! Love talking to you girls!!

Leave a Comment, I'd love to hear from you!
