Casual Black Outfit With a Twist

Good Monday morning!! Who watched the Super Bowl?? I was watching the ID Channel while everyone else was watching the game. I usually make my “famous” taco dip but decided to fix a normal meal instead. Barry was not amused that I ripped away the appetizers for the game LOL!

Do you girls fix a lot of snacks and dips for the Super Bowl? I’m curious what you guys do. I’m good with a bag of chips and some dip, but these boys in this house want the full enchilada! They were really upset when they realized all they were getting was BBQ Chicken and a couple of sides. Better luck next time HA!

I decided to go really casual and comfy today, but try to put a twist on my outfit to make it appear dressier. I work in an office and we really don’t have a dress code, but I do try to wear our clothes as much as possible. Today I am styling two pieces from our Boutique that were big sellers and flew off the racks.

Let’s talk about these jeans first. These are Black KanCan Distressed Stretch Ankle Jeans, they have some raw cutting (ripped look) in them as you can see. I don’t mind wearing these around the house or running errands, but if I were going out to eat, I can easily slide black Cuddle Duds underneath so I don’t show skin, or to keep my legs warmer, browse them HERE. I bought these jeans in size 11 so they wouldn’t be skin tight when I wear them. I don’t know how you girls are, but I can’t take skin tight anymore. The more give in the pants the better I like them. These jeans have A LOT of give in the material, more than I thought they would – so they are comfortable like leggings! The top I have on is a basic comfy T-shirt from The Loft, called the Refined Tee. This is a must-have in your wardrobe! You can utilize a good Tee in so many ways. Under a cardigan, a blazer, denim jacket or by itself. You can even wear this one with a skirt and a cute scarf to transition into Spring. It’s a dressier, sleeker material with some spandex in it, so it holds its shape. I don’t suggest drying these types of t-shirts. I hang mine to dry and they hold up great! Get the Tee HERE.

The cardigan…this cardigan was featured in a Fashion Show our local Women’s Club held back in the Fall and it was a total HIT with the women. Women loved this cardigan from 18 to 80, they all were asking about it. We featured it with jeans, but we also featured it with a knee length pencil skirt with booties and that look blew them all away.

This cardigan is by HELLO MELLO SIGNATURE SOFT CAREFREE THREADS LONG CARDIGAN that comes with MATCHING DRAWSTRING TOTE BAG. It has pockets too! Mine is a mint green, but it has speckles of black in it. This comes in a light gray and a charcoal/black also. It runs $29.99, fits true to size and has a 5-star rating on Amazon! It is a thinner cardigan, which is great for the workplace or transitioning into warmer weather. This will look cute with shorts and sandals too! I will do a post on that type of outfit a little later. I am pulling together some cute outfits for the Spring push!

I chose minimal jewelry since it’s MONDAY! Mondays are so hard for me LOL! I loved this necklace for a few reasons, I love the bead color and I especially love that I can personalize my pieces! This is the Faceted Slate Necklace, it comes with a charm that you can personalize, I put a “B” on mine. I have to share one more thing, Lash Boost! I’ve been using this for about 3 months now and LOVE it! When I started going through the change of life, I literally had NO eyelashes. I didn’t have one tube of mascara in my bathroom – there was no use! No lashes – no need for mascara LOL! I used false eyelashes when I was going somewhere important, other than that – zilch!
